Find a Perfect Honeymoon Destination

Perfect honeymoons don't just happen. They have to be carefully planned. The more you do your honeymoon homework, the more romantic - and the more fun-your honeymoon will be.

Everybody wants a perfect honeymoon. To get 100% compatibility both mentally and physically. And better believe it! - Its tougher task for Indians as most of us hardly know our mate-- both ways. So to get everything right the first time, is one hell of a job. If you do OK, it'll be a bag of sweet memories else an ocean of nightmares. And why is it even more important for you to hit it right the very first time: because probably it would be your first and only honeymoon. Most of us marry once.

A honeymoon is a wonderful time for a couple. With no time constraints and job pressures, a newly married couple is free to enjoy their time together. The honeymoon planning usually begins with choosing a destination, but where to go?

* Every destination has its high and low seasons-and this is typically a combination of weather and the times of the year that their tourists typically take vacations. So the first thing a couple needs to determine is whether they want a warm or cold honeymoon spot, and whether they want to stay fairly close to home or venture farther away.

* Also, ask yourself if you're willing to delay the start of your honeymoon a couple of weeks or months. Summer months are very popular for weddings, as it tends to be easier for family and friends to get to the wedding; plus, if you're having an outdoor wedding, the odds of good weather are more in your favor. However, this also tends to be the expensive (and sometimes more crowded) season for many honeymoon destinations.

* Giving yourself a month off after the wedding before leaving on your honeymoon can give you time to relax and wind down from the wedding, write your thank-you notes, and take advantage of the lower prices of what's known as the "shoulder season" (between high and low season).

* The big question! First, some statistics: honeymoon package. When considering a resort that's NOT all-inclusive, take some time to research the area and find out what meals cost, what a snorkel trip costs, what taxis cost, etc. Tourist bureau sites are a good place to start. Costs of excursions and meals can easily add up to much more than your airfare and hotel, and you need to be realistic and prepared for this. Consider staying at multiple hotels on your honeymoon-perhaps one or two nights at someplace really nice to start, then a more moderate property with perhaps less of a view for the remainder.

* Finding the perfect honeymoon package may be as simple as a visit to the Internet. Travel sites are always promoting honeymoon vacations and couples may be able to take advantage of these specials. Travel agents may also be helpful and may have information on packages not available online.

* The most crucial aspect of choosing the perfect honeymoon destination is advance planning. Many disasters result from a lack of planning or not having a contingency plan. A couple should always purchase trip insurance for a honeymoon. Travel agents usually provide great assistance on these matters, and even if the couple didn't book the vacation through a travel agent, consulting one about overseas travel may be a very good idea.

* One good way to get the honeymoon started right is to get to the airport the night before, or break up a long road trip. Most airports have hotels and a couple who stays at the airport hotel does not have to worry about missing a flight because they got caught in traffic or overslept.

* If the couple is driving for more than about four hours after the wedding, or more than a couple of hours after an evening wedding, they should stay at a hotel at a good halfway point to their destination. They will be worn out from their day and may not be able to safely drive for long distances.
