Relationship Quiz - Is The Honeymoon Over?

There comes a stage in love relationship when the relations mature to a certain level. The initial attraction and knowing about each other is finished. The romance slowly gives way to living with each other and taking the relationship ahead. This phase is fraught with many obstacles as are all the others phases of romantic relationships. The biggest problem after the honeymoon is over is to see the real person. Till the honeymoon is in progress, the lovers make their own image of their beloved. After the honeymoon is over, they get to see the real person. Let us talk about this phase.

This is the phase of facing reality. The dream is over and the relationship enters a different phase. Both the lovers want to impose their will on each other. They do not give in easily to each other, but fight for their own point of view. What was once a very sweet voice now becomes a shrill demand. Blames are made and shocking changes occur in the affair.

This stage is a important stepping stone to a long term relationship. If the lovers can define their association, their rights and their need for each other at this stage and reach an agreement, they can grow into a very mature couple. Otherwise, with the romance getting finished, the lovers are left with nothing but broken hearts and disbelief. Communication and mutual understanding is the key to succeed after honeymoon.

Every relationship that is devoid of romantic assumptions demands co existence with respect for each other, need for each other, common goals and common values. If the couple can do that, they can proceed towards a long lasting relationship. If any of these is missing, there will be bickering all the time, and the relations will break after some time or continue with great pain for each other.

Writing for romantic greeting cards, screensavers and desktop wallpapers is the hobby of CD Mohatta. You can download romantic screensavers and also solve fun quizzes on love & dating

Wedding Plans - Getting Down To Business In The Honeymoon Suite

Wedding Plans are similar to that of a business venture, in what way you ask, well usually there is a partner involved then the initial expense outlay followed by commitment and last but not least the most important part of the deal is to have success on the day and for the future.

Your wedding day without doubt is going to be one of the most special days in both you and your partners life so it is important to let wisdom take centre stage when drawing up your wedding plan list, e.g. learn by others mistakes. Mistakes like going over the budget - clashing of colours with the bridal gown even wrong choice of venue or flowers can spoil the day.

After the date has been finalized for your wedding make sure that you remember to prioritize your wedding plans to-do-list by having your future husband/wife at your side when making decisions - by doing this any likes or dislikes from both parties can be amicably solved therefore preventing any arguments before the ring is on the finger.

Cost effective weddings are just as special as costly ones so if you are on a budget stick to it to save any heartache further down the line when the pennies are much more appreciated in running the marital home.

The build up to the big day can prove to be very stressful and it doesn`t have to be if your wedding plans have been carefully detailed out and scrutinized over and over again so that no stone has been left unturned - last minute hitches can cause so much sorrow. Why not call on close friends and family for some advice regarding your wedding plans - this can prove to be very helpful as well as receiving fresh tips and ideas from people who want the best for you and partner.

To make your wedding day unique in a cost effective way then do every thing yourself - either you or someone you know or that they know will be handy with a needle and cotton. Remember word of mouth will bring results as well as a bridal gown - just ask. If by chance you have a talent like sculpturing water garden features etc try advertising in a local newspaper your product in return for the services of a seamstress.

If weather permitting take your wedding vows in the garden (Check that the vicar is available) - decorate accordingly as this location can be used for the reception venue. Ask a friend for the use of their garden if you find yours is too small to accommodate the wedding guests invited. White weddings in cooler months - then hire a marquee. A running buffet is a suitable way of filling the guest`s belly attending an outdoor wedding ceremony.

The wedding cake, how are your baking skills in the kitchen - don`t fret, sponge cake mixes are there for the taking - borrow a good recipe book from the library on how to pipe cream your confectionery. Practice makes perfect have a few dummy runs in the scullery. Not confident enough to take on the task then spread the word. Look for discount sales on wedding bands - rings do not have to be gold.

Photographs - everyone has a camera so finding a photographer should not be difficult. Crap snaps are definitely out of the question so check out the quality of the photographers previous wedding shots. Flowers can be picked from the garden or open fields. If you feel the need to add to the hand held wedding accessory then a trail of ribbons can enhance the bouquet. The headdress can be a crown of flowers to compliment the bridal posy. The options are endless for making your wedding day special - planning is the key to success.

Walk to the church on a fine spring/summers day - it may sound unusual - but unique thus saving on wedding cars and good for the environment (pollution from exhaust fumes)

Weddings are very similar to that of a business where in time you retire just like the happy couple as man and wife to the honeymoon suite to get down to business.

Considering A Cruise On Your Honeymoon? Try Alaska

Taking a cruise for your honeymoon provides an opportunity for you to start your married life in a state of relaxation and Alaska has some of the most scenic and unspoiled vistas you will ever get to experience. Cruising past ancient glaciers and under soaring bald eagles can only be done in Alaska. Most Alaskan cruises are 7 night cruises, but some are 12 night cruise tours that will also take you to places like Denali National Park.

Cruising presents the comfort of five star luxury accommodations and provides unending excitement, adventure, the opportunity to get to know each other and to make new friends aboard your sea adventure.

Typical ports of call include: Juneau - The capital of Alaska offers world class hiking through glacial waterfalls and trough the largest temperate rain forest in the state.

Ketchikan - When you visit Ketchikan no visit is complete without visiting the totem pole museum where you can lean about the purposes of the totem poles, and how they were made. Be sure to have an umbrella when you are in Ketchikan, it is the rainiest city in the United States.

Skagway - When gold was discovered in Canada's Yukon Territory in 1898, Skagway became the launching point for many gold seekers. While in Skagway be sure to ride the famous White Pass and Yukon Railroad and visit the Red Onion Saloon.

Destination options in Alaska include glacier hiking, whale watching, bear watching, fishing and of course shopping. For the truly adventurous you can follow the footsteps of the Klondike gold rush miners up the White Pass. All cruise lines offering honeymoon packages have exquisitely appointed suites, gyms, swimming pools, spas, salons, shopping and casinos to pamper the cruiser and energize the mind, body and spirit.

There's no need to be concerned that you won't know what to do or what to bring on a cruise, there are many resources available online and directly with the cruise line to assist you in packing, activities planning and leisure options. And fear not, should you forget to pack an item for your honeymoon, the cruise ship will have shops onboard at which you can purchase anything from basic necessities to luxury items and souvenirs for friends back home.

Considering the option of only having to unpack once, visiting multiple locations, and being able to spend some quality time with your new spouse aboard a self-sufficient floating city, you can't go wrong cruising to Alaska on your honeymoon!

Hawaii also has a culture all of its own and offers its guests the feeling of being in a foreign land.

Although it is more expensive than most other popular locations, Bora Bora is another truly romantic honeymoon destination that is well worth the price. It is an out of the way location that is not frequented by many tourists like some other popular honeymoon destinations. The relative serenity of the islands creates an atmosphere that is wonderful for relaxing with your new partner.

Although the majestic mountain ranges and availability of cozy cabins in the woods make Colorado a romantic getaway location, it is truly famous for its abundance of winter sports. Choosing to honeymoon in Colorado affords a couple a romantic destination that also has a variety of adventure activities available.

Las Vegas can also be a romantic honeymoon destination. Although it is known as, "Sin City," and is famous for its ostentatious glamour and gambling, Las Vegas can also be a romantic location for a couple enjoying their first few blissful days of marriage. The area offers a wealth of beautifully appointed hotel rooms in a variety of styles. This variety ensures that there is something for every couple in Las Vegas.

European locations such as England, Spain and Italy are also popular romantic honeymoon destinations. Additionally if the couple does not speak the native language, it gives the couple a sense of being all alone even in a crowd which lends itself beautifully to the romantic atmosphere.

If you find yourself confused by what you've read to this point, don't despair. Everything should be crystal clear by the time you finish.

Mexico is another popular romantic honeymoon location. In particular the Riviera Maya offers a couple a multitude of beautiful beaches that are relatively empty compared to the crowds found in other areas of Mexico such as Cancun. Many of the resorts in the Riviera Maya are all inclusive and some even offer room service free of charge.

Although, it is known more for innocent fun and adventure, Florida can also be a romantic honeymoon destination. Florida offers an assortment of entertainment options from beaches to theme parks and nightclubs. Enjoying an afternoon of rides and attractions at a theme park is an excellent way for a couple to grow closer together. Newlyweds are sure to find everything that they are looking for in Florida.

Costa Rica is another romantic honeymoon locale that offers couples so much more than just beautiful beaches and sparkling waters. Costa Rica is an excellent choice for a couple who is looking for both romance and adventure on their honeymoon. Here you can spend your days kayaking, white water rafting or scuba diving in some of the most beautiful waters around.

New York City is another romantic destination for newlyweds to spend their honeymoon. There is so much to see and do in the city that a couple may find themselves wishing to come back for the first anniversary. New York City offers a variety of elegant restaurants, an extensive theater district and one of the best locations in the world for people watching.

Caneel Bay in the US Virgin Islands is another beach location that is a romantic place to honeymoon. Caneel Bay offers a gorgeous setting that is unparalleled in its beauty. This picturesque location is the perfect place for a couple to relax in the sun and enjoy each others company.

Although beach locations are some of the most popular honeymoon location destinations there are also other popular choices for a romantic getaway. Colorado, Las Vegas, Europe and New York City are just a few of the other popular destinations that are perfect for enjoying a romantic honeymoon that also offers a little something extra.

Now that wasn't hard at all, was it? And you've earned a wealth of knowledge, just from taking some time to study an expert's word on honeymoon.

The Top Five Honeymoon Vacation Destinations

Everybody wants to have a memorable honeymoon, and there are plenty of destinations that you can choose from. Whether you want a quiet, relaxed stay or an activity filled honeymoon, chances are that you will be able to find the destination that you are looking for, and create a memorable experience that you both can share. Here are some suggestions for five top honeymoon vacation destinations.

1. For many years the number one honeymoon destination in the United States has been Hawaii. It's not hard to understand why when you see its beautiful beaches, tropical scenery, and wide variety of activities to help keep you busy. When you tour Hawaii, there is no shortage of beautiful scenery including fabulous waterfalls and spectacular beach views. And who can beat the romance of a setting sun over the tropical ocean? But there is also lots of other adult activities to be enjoyed as well, including some of the best golf courses in the world. And when it's time to relax, enjoy the sauna or pool and then take in a Hawaii luau. As you can see, Hawaii is a great honeymoon choice.

2. Honeymooners have also frequently chosen Niagara Falls on the US/Canada border in the past. Here you can enjoy the second tallest waterfall in the world, and even take a boat cruise around the area of the falls itself. There are plenty of tourist attractions that cater to honeymooners located around the falls too. And the Catskill Mountains are just a day trip away, where you can enjoy relaxing and inspiring mountain scenery together.

3. Florida is another top honeymoon vacation spot. There are lots of places in Florida where honeymooners can enjoy each other and the local scenery. Perhaps the most famous honeymoon spot in Florida though is Disney World, located right in the center of the state. Disney World loves to cater to honeymooners, providing special vacation packages to those looking for a romantic getaway. But if theme parks are not what you are looking for, consider going all the way to the bottom of the state to either Miami or Key West. Both of these locations offer beautiful resorts and white sandy beaches along with plenty of attractions to keep you busy when you want to be.

4. California can also be a great honeymoon destination, especially in Northern California. Just north of San Francisco is the Californian wine country where you can visit local wineries and enjoy their hospitality during your stay. Northern California offers lots of rolling hills, quaint villages, and beautiful mountain ranges to help you enjoy your stay. And all along the way you can stay at some of the most romantic bed and breakfasts in the country.

5. Another popular honeymoon destination these days is Las Vegas. If you are looking for a fun filled, and action-packed vacation, then this is for you! Lots of Las Vegas hotels offer special honeymoon packages too. And besides gambling, there's plenty of shopping, nightlife, and even the Grand Canyon to keep you busy.

Any of these honeymoon vacation destinations would make a fine choice after your wedding. Just be sure to book your reservations well in advance, as all of these honeymoon spots are very popular.

Honeymoon Destinations: Where to Go

Michael Cottam, one of the founders of TheBigDay, offers advice on how to go about choosing where to go on your honeymoon.

So you're engaged...congratulations! One of the most fun parts about getting married is planning that honeymoon trip of a lifetime. And if you haven't even narrowed it down to a country, much less an island or a resort, don't worry-many (if not most!) honeymoon couples are in the same boat.

Some couples start by leafing through travel or bridal magazines and looking for pictures that are appealing and romantic-you can do this, but you're more likely to settle on the best-MARKETED destination rather than the best destination for your wants, needs, and style.

The following are questions you should ask yourself-it'll help you figure out what your options are, and help you ask better questions of your travel agent...which will help you plan that perfect honeymoon.

When are you going?
Every destination has its high and low seasons-and this is typically a combination of weather and the times of the year that their tourists typically take vacations. Some destinations, such as Hawaii, have very little variance in their weather year-round; others, like the Caribbean have a definite hurricane season. Yet it's important to know that the Caribbean is a very big place-and different parts have different hurricane seasons, and some parts of the western Caribbean really aren't hurricane prone at all. Other destinations--such as Central America and Southeast Asia-have rainy or monsoon seasons. You really need to know the specific destination in order to have a feel for whether or not their "green" season is too "green" (rainy!) for you.

Also, ask yourself if you're willing to delay the start of your honeymoon a couple of weeks or months. Summer months are very popular for weddings, as it tends to be easier for family and friends to get to the wedding; plus, if you're having an outdoor wedding, the odds of good weather are more in your favor. However, this also tends to be the expensive (and sometimes more crowded) season for many honeymoon destinations. Giving yourself a month off after the wedding before leaving on your honeymoon can give you time to relax and wind down from the wedding, write your thank-you notes, and take advantage of the lower prices of what's known as the "shoulder season" (between high and low season).

Travel time/vacation time
How much time off work are you going to take? And how much of it are you willing to spend on an airplane?

If you're going on an African safari, you're going to consume about a day and a half traveling each way from the U.S. This is fine if you're going to be there a couple of weeks, but if those days are coming off your total of 7 days on vacation, you might consider someplace closer. And distance isn't the only factor: how many stopovers is it going to take to get where you're going? If you've got to land on a main island, then wait around for 4 to 6 hours for the "island hopper" flight to take you out to your remote private island retreat, that's going to consume your vacation time too.

A great option, if it's available, is a red-eye flight, where you sleep on the plane and wake up at your destination, saving a day of vacation time.

Cost
The big question! First, some statistics: the average U.S. couple spends about $3700 for their honeymoon package...and this doesn't included expenditures once they're at their destination. When considering a resort that's NOT all-inclusive, take some time to research the area and find out what meals cost, what a snorkel trip costs, what taxis cost, etc. Tourist bureau sites are a good place to start.

Costs of excursions and meals can easily add up to much more than your airfare and hotel, and you need to be realistic and prepared for this. Consider staying at multiple hotels on your honeymoon-perhaps one or two nights at someplace really nice to start, then a more moderate property with perhaps less of a view for the remainder.

Language
This is less of a problem than you might think. Unless you're backpacking around some exotic country, you're going to find people in restaurants, hotels, and the activity vendors all speak English. One bit of advice: try to learn a few words and phrases in the local language, as you'll find you're treated differently if you begin conversations with "hello" in their language, and show you're willing to make the effort to get along in their country.

History and culture
Do you enjoy visiting ancient ruins...centuries-old cathedrals...seeing native villages? The beauty of the art, architecture, and history of Greece, Italy, Scotland and Ireland, or Mayan civilizations can make for a fabulous honeymoon experience.

Europe is an obvious destination, but think also about the Mayans and Aztecs in Latin America...Buddhist temples in Bali and Thailand... Angkor Wat in Cambodia...Buddhist and Hindu temples in India. China is becoming a much more popular destination as well: consider visiting the Great Wall and seeing the Terracotta Warriors.

The destinations
Here's a quick look at some of the more popular destinations, and what they're known for.

Fiji- great scuba and snorkeling, very friendly people, mostly villa-style beach bungalow accommodations in widely-separated resorts. Moderately expensive to very expensive. About 9 hours flying time from Los Angeles.

Hawaii- beautiful weather all year round, close to mainland U.S., amazing array of watersports and adventure activities. Not as much of a cultural transition for mainland Americans as many other destinations. Most hotels have 200-400 rooms; hotel density along beaches can be high. Excellent choice for a destination wedding, as prices are very reasonable for high quality and service. Inexpensive to moderately expensive.

Tahiti- great scuba and snorkeling, famous for overwater bungalows and phenomenal views. Resorts tend to be fairly far apart; very secluded and private. Expensive to very expensive; food, drinks, and activities can be very expensive as well. About 8 hours flying time from Los Angeles.

Mexico- Cancun/Cozumel nearly fully recovered from the past summer's hurricanes, and much rebuilding has resulted in many upgraded resorts. High density of resorts on beaches in places like Cancun and Cabo. Great diving, watersports; some areas close to Mayan ruins. Recently, all-inclusive resorts have become common, and there are some terrific bargains to be had, especially at the moderate to more expensive resorts. A new trend we're seeing is combining the traditional beach vacation with a few days inland at one of Mexico's colonial cities, exploring the history and culture of old Mexico. Easy access from the U.S. Inexpensive to moderately expensive.

Caribbean- known for prevalence of all-inclusive resorts, especially in Jamaica. Huge range of cultures, styles, food, music. Great watersports and scenery, and not too long in the air from major U.S. cities. Cruises are a very popular way to explore multiple islands and countries in the Caribbean at a modest cost. Inexpensive to very expensive.

Europe - history, architecture, and great food and wine are big draws here. Airfare is less than you might expect, often sub-$500 per person roundtrip. Less of a beach resort destination, although areas of Italy, France, and Greece on the Mediterranean can provide the sun & surf element. Castles in Ireland and self-drive B&B vacations throughout the UK are popular, as are villa stays in France and Italy. In Greece, the Cyclades islands are very popular: Santorini with its submerged volcano, black sandy beach, and breathtaking sunsets...Mykonos with its blue-domed churches, whitewashed houses and beaches...and Naxos, the largest island with golden sandy beaches, clear turquoise waters, and the medieval capital of Hora. Honeymooners often combine stays on these islands with a visit to Athens. Many cruise options are available, allowing easy exploration of a number of Mediterranean ports in one vacation. Moderately expensive to very expensive.

Costa Rica & Belize - becoming very popular as eco-tourism destinations, these countries offer terrific beach resorts, watersports, diving and snorkeling, combined with jungle exploration and eco-adventures. Treetop resorts becoming popular here as well; and like Mexico, there are a number of Mayan ruins accessible in Belize. Belize also is famous for its barrier reef, and the scuba diving hotspot known as The Blue Hole. Relatively short flight from mainland U.S., combined with great value for the dollar at many resorts makes these two countries very hot for honeymooners.

Australia & New Zealand - enormous variety of things to do for the adventurous types, from Ayers Rock to the Great Barrier reef, Sydney and its renowned Opera House, Surfers Paradise. New Zealand has everything from geysers in Rotorua to jet-boating; hiking and skiing amongst tremendous scenery, and of course the famous Maori hospitality. We often suggest combining a trip to either of these countries with a stopover in Fiji or Tahiti as well. Long flight times (15 hours+ from Los Angeles) mean you'll probably want to stay 2 weeks at the very least. Moderately expensive to expensive.

The Seychelles, Maldives, and Mauritius are all fabulous honeymoon destinations, although because of the flying time from the U.S. (around 30 hours), they're more commonly visited by Europeans. Truly spectacular diving and scenery, great food and culture, and very friendly people. Hotels are much more spread out than Hawaii or Mexico-more like Fiji or Tahiti. Private island resorts are common, as in Fiji and Tahiti. Seychelles and Mauritius trips are commonly combined with a week or so in Africa on safari. Expensive to very expensive, even without the airfare (roughly $1500 to $2000 per person roundtrip from the U.S.).

Southeast Asia - combines terrific beach resorts with extraordinary culture and historical sites to explore. A relatively long flight from the U.S. (up to 20 hours depending on routing), but a tremendous value once you're there. Thailand, Bali, China, Vietnam and Cambodia are all becoming very popular. Very inexpensive without the airfare; inexpensive to moderate with airfare.

Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Chile are becoming more popular, and offer a great opportunity to experience culture, wilderness and traditional beach resorts all in one vacation. The Amazon is a huge draw, of course, but also the culture and experiences to be had in Rio and Buenos Aires make for a very memorable and exotic honeymoon. The Inca city of Machu Picchu is certainly one of the most beautiful and enigmatic ancient sites in the world, perched in the Andes at over 9,000 feet in elevantion. Moderately expensive to very expensive.

Michael and Terry started TheBigDay back in 2001 in Terry's garage. Michael's role is a combination of technology and business development. He's an avid traveler, and recently also became a Big Day customer as well, marrying Melinda in the summer of 2005. The Honeymoon Hotspot: Hawai

Compared to Mexico or Tahiti, what makes Hawaii a special desination?

Hawaii is an exotic Polynesian destination that is a part of the United States. For American travelers, the demands of a foreign country such as a passport, currency exchange, a different language and culture are not found in Hawaii. The diversity of Hawaii with its great beaches, rainforests, volcanoes, sea cliffs, and the friendly mix of people make it a unique and exotic destination.

Hawaii is perfect for a short or long vacation with a flying time of about six hours to most islands from the west coast of the United States.

The Hawaiian Islands have many people that return to visit due to the stunning beauty of the islands, the diverse culture, and its rich history.

Where do celebrities like to go?

Hawaii is a favorite of celebrities for the great beaches, the warm tropical weather, and great natural beauty of the islands.

The Four Seasons Lanai at Manele Bay was the honeymoon destination of Bill Gates and Melinda French. The Kona Village on the Big Island of Hawaii was the honeymoon choice of Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook.

The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel on the Big Island of Hawaii was the site of Lisa Marie Presley's wedding to Nicolas Cage.

The Princeville Resort on Kauai is a favorite of celebrities such as Matt Leblanc.

When is the best time to go to Hawaii?

Hawaii is a great destination with warm and balmy weather most of the year. Rainfall varies with the location more than the season. The western and southern regions of the islands, the leeward side, have the driest and sunniest conditions with the calmest waters. The rainy season is from November to April. You will find stormy weather at times during the winter, but much of the rain consists of short daytime showers followed by rainbows.

Hawaii has several peak travel seasons, January - March, June - August, the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons. The highest prices and greatest travel demand are found during these peak travel seasons.

What are you favorite "hidden gems" of Hawaii?

You can find hidden gems on most of the Hawaiian Islands. The Outrigger Royal Kahana on Maui is good value that is located just north of the more expensive hotels on Kaanapali Beach. It is a condominium with a full kitchen in all units and is close to shopping, fine restaurants, and golf courses.

The Miramar at Waikiki is a moderate hotel on the island of Oahu with a great location. It is a few blocks from the beach and in the heart of Waikiki near shopping, restaurants, and public transportation.

The Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort on The Big Island of Hawaii is a moderate hotel with a great location. Turtles and fish can be found in the tide pools and coral formations at the resort and it is a great place to snorkel. A replica of King David Kalakaua's beach cottage and the remains of three heiau, ancient Hawaiian temples, can be found at the resort.

Hawaii has a number of smaller luxury hotels if you want to splurge for your honeymoon. The Whalers Cove on Kauai is small, secluded oceanfront hideaway located in the sunny Poipu area of the island. It is a condominium resort with spacious units and a cove that is perfect for snorkeling and diving.

The Hotel Hana Maui is a small, luxurious hotel in a remote town on the island of Maui. A private deck hot tub is offered in many of the Sea Ranch Plantation style cottages. The hotel offers yoga classes, horseback riding along the Hana Coast, a spa and much more.

The Four Seasons Lanai at Manele Bay Resort on the private island of Lanai is a secluded retreat of pristine natural beauty. The resort is perched above a white-sand beach that borders a protected marine preserve and features spectacular views of the ocean and Lanai's dramatic coastline. The resort has an exclusive spa, outstanding dining venues, and luxury guest rooms.

Where in Hawaii can you get the most for your money?

Hawaii has a wide variety of accommodations in all price ranges including bed & breakfasts, hotels, and condominiums. The city of Waikiki has more hotels than condominiums and you can find a number of moderate hotels if you don't mind staying three or four block from the beach. Maui, on the other hand, has more condominiums than hotel rooms. The moderately priced hotels and condominiums can be found in the southern region of Kihei. The Kihei properties are conveniently located across the street from the public beaches. Kauai and the Big Island of Hawaii have fewer choices for moderate hotels and condominiums. The moderate hotels on Kauai can be found north of the airport in Lihue along the coconut coast of Kapaa. The moderate hotels on the Big Island of Hawaii can be found in the Kailua Kona area on the western side of the island.

Ed Lee, one of the top Hawaii travel specialists at TheBigDay Travel, gives the inside scoop on Hawaii travel in the following interview.

Honeymoon Planning: Planning Your Dream Honeymoon

Everyone has a picture in their minds of the dream honeymoon after your perfect wedding. Maybe it's backpacking through Europe and visiting fairytale castles; maybe it's going to a pampering resort and focusing on each other.

You can identify the best honeymoon for you and your new spouse if you ask yourself the following questions...

Do you want your dream honeymoon and your perfect wedding in the same place?

This is called a destination wedding. If you wanted a big wedding, you will have to scale back a lot to do this, but on the other hand, how wonderful to share your honeymoon with the people you love best in the world! For older couples, sometimes a destination wedding, without tons of guests but with lots of time to focus on one another, is ideal.

If you do this, you won't have to rush off to the airport, pack twice, or even take off your wedding dress that day.

Near or far - how much travel do you want to do for the honeymoon?

This is both a budget and a personal preference question. A honeymoon isn't about visiting exotic locations around the world; it's about spending time on the two of you. There are wonderful places you've never seen within two hundred miles of your home if you just think about it. If this is what the decision comes down to, opt for a longer honeymoon close to home as opposed to a short one far away. Give yourselves the gifts of one another.

Save or splurge - should we go into debt for our honeymoon?

This is up to you. Obviously, entering debt before marriage (especially after a big wedding ceremony) is not the greatest idea; but if the debt is manageable and it makes the difference between an adequate resort and a fantastic dream honeymoon, you should go for it. You'll only have one honeymoon. Make the most of it.

Sun and sand, or whitewater rafting?

You and your fianc? are different people and may have different tastes - he prefers the excitement of a 8-hour trip down a class 4 rapids, while you want to lie on a white table with cucumbers over your eyes getting a super-deep massage. They're not mutually exclusive.

One of the delights of marriage is that you each get to try what the other loves. Look for a resort that serves both of you. A ski lodge with a luxury spa. An all-inclusive cruise with destinations in the whitewater heaven of Costa Rica. And then you both need to try the fun the other has chosen.

What about learning something new together?

Approach this with caution. Your first lesson may convince one or both of you that you hate skiing or snorkeling.

Trying something new together is great when it works, but you should hedge your bets by making it part of a larger vacation. Don't plan every second out, either. No more than 20% of your time should be rigidly structured; the rest, for your honeymoon, should be malleable to suit your moods of the moment.

What if he wants a cruise, and I want a resort? I hate the water!

You know, you can blend it. He may like cruises, but you can do a three day cruise ending in a nice stay at an all-inclusive resort. Why do you hate the water? If it's a genuine phobia, you need to discuss this with your fianc?. If, however, it's just an aversion, give it a chance. Perhaps you had a rotten cruise a few years back, or it makes you think of an ex. A great experience this time can revive your enthusiasm for the water.

Honeymoons in Tanzania and Zanzibar

The ideal location for a honeymoon must be Tanzania, the game safari followed by an idyllic retreat to one of the islands on the Zanzibar archipelago. These richly spiced islands surrounded by the warm, crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean make Tanzania an ideal honeymoon destination.

Zanzibar offers many elegant lodges that provide private intimate accommodation necessary for the perfect honeymoon. I would say Tanzania is probably the easiest country in Africa in which to combine a quality safari with time on an island in the Indian Ocean.

Many couples get married between July and October and the Zanzibar Archipelago offers hot, dry weather with little or no humidity. Zanzibar offers a wide range of accommodation and prices and is very good value for money.

Some of the favorite lodges for honeymooners are Mnembe Island, Breezes, Ras Nungwi and of course the remote and luxurious Fundu Lagoon on Pemba Island. Prices vary from around US$2,000 per person up to US$6,000 per person depending on the amount of luxury you opt for on safari in Tanzania and relaxing on Zanzibar.

Bellow is a short description of some of the lodges named above.

Mnemba lies two kilometers north-east of the island of Zanzibar. A protection zone surrounds the island, conserving magnificent coral reefs where giant turtles, ghost crabs and tropical fish drift through the lagoons. Mnemba Island features banda cottages, bordered on three sides by tropical beach forest and overlooking the beach and coral reef. Breezes Beach hotel is beautifully decorated in relaxed elegance with a wonderful mix of hand carved furniture, Zanzibar antiques and beautiful fabrics. This beautiful resort is located along a pristine, untouched beach stretching as far as the eye can see and is situated on the south east coast of the Island of Zanzibar. This hotel has a curtained restaurant for two set right on the edge of the Indian Ocean.

On the northernmost tip of Zanzibar Island, Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel overlooks a sparkling expanse of Indian Ocean, a cluster of whitewashed and palm thatched cottages set in tropical gardens. The lush gardens drop down onto unspoilt beaches which have the benefit of a wide coral reef.

Fundu is on Pemba Island, the sister island to Zanzibar lying across the Pemba Channel to the north. The hotel is situated on a remote and beautiful beach on the south western side of the island and is only accessible by boat. There are sixteen bungalows, consisting of spacious tents, set under thatch roofs on wooden decks and each with a view over the ocean. Each room is ensuite with fresh hot water shower, toilet and basin. The rooms are connected to the main buildings by sand walkways. Some rooms are situated along the beachfront with the remaining on an elevated position overlooking the ocean. Two of our fourteen accommodations are suites with their own private chill out decks and plunge pools.

Zanzibar also has places of interest to hire a motorcycle and tour the island can be a great adventure. A few places to visit are: the Historic town and port of Stone Town Tour, at Kizimkazi there is a chance to dive with the dolphins, no trip would be complete with out a Spice Tour. Jozani Forest is a great day out to see the rare Red Colobus monkey and follow the nature trail through this beautiful forest; it is an area of incredible natural beauty.

Kenya - Paradise For The Perfect Wedding and Honeymoon

Kenya - Paradise For The Perfect Wedding and Honeymoon By Felix Koskei.

A wedding day is probably one of the happiest moments for any couple. This is a day you would want to remain with you and be part of you for the rest of your life. This is a day when you commit to love and cherish and behold for richer or poorer till death do you part. It is a principal turning point in one's life and all that everyone can pray for is a happy everlasting union.

A wedding within any culture or proportion does not come cheap. Weddings are very expensive in most parts of world. A part from making a big hole in your pocket, planning a wedding can be a headache if not a nightmare to a lot of people. By the time the big day comes, the couple and the organizing team will have burnt the midnight oil for several months.

Kenya has a wide range of wedding locations. You can have a wedding right inside the jungle wilderness amid the lions and elephants. One can also have a wedding in the sandy white beaches of the Kenya coast. A wedding can also be hosted in a 5 star city hotel with all the glamour anyone can imagine. A wedding can also be held in the country side surrounded my tradition and culture of that community. Be it a civil, traditional or a religious wedding, a wedding in Kenya is bound to be as stress-free and as hassle-free as anyone can wish for.

Holding a wedding in a foreign country has a lot of advantages. The most important aspect being the reduction in costs. Due to the reduced number in your guest list, expenditure will be reduced to a mere fraction. Secondly, the headache of planning and organizing the wedding will be lifted off your shoulders and this will be the responsibility of your travel agent. Your main task will be providing the required legal documentation and regular guidance on your preferences.

I recently organized a beach wedding in a five star hotel in the coast of Mombasa. For starters, what is required is the couple's full documentation. This will include passports, birth certificates, letter from a church minister or doctor or a civil registrar confirming neither party is married; or proof of Decree of Absolute in case of previous divorce; or certificate of death in case of a widow/widower situation. Other required details will be full addresses for both parties, occupations, religion and addresses of the parties' parents. Once the formal legal notification of the wedding has been filed, the nitty-gritty details of the wedding day begin to take place. For Kenya, the usual minimum residency required is 3 weeks, which is normally reduced to 3 full days excluding weekends and national holidays, upon receipt by the registrar of a letter signed by both parties.

A wedding in Kenya will normally come as a package. This will basically include accommodation, registration fees, civil registrar's fees, registrar's transportation to the wedding venue, wedding cake, sparkling wine, button hole and bouquet, flowers, fruits, decoration of the wedding venue, photography, videography, traditional dancers or a live band or a guitarist and witnesses (if required).

During the 3 days mandatory period when the wedding couple is in the country, they got a detailed briefing of all the arrangements that have been done and if there are any changes that are needed, then they will be effected immediately.

On the day of the wedding, the witnesses accompanied by the traditional dances went to pick the wedding couple from their room. Before they exit, there is a photo taking session. The wedding couple and the witnesses were then escorted by dance and praise to the wedding venue; which is right at the beach of the Indian Ocean. The venue is fully decorated with an arch and flowers with tables and seats. The guests are seated and the registrar or priest is waiting for the couple. As the wedding couple and the witnesses settle in their positions, the dancers provide a short entertainment interlude. Immediately after that, the wedding function begins as the priest or registrar takes over. Once the vows have been exchanged and the couple is declared man and wife, there is a moment of jubilation and congratulation as the entertainment continues. This is followed a photo taking moment in different selected locations.

The party then returns to the venue for the cake cutting and toasting. This is then followed by an entertainment interlude as the guests and visitors present their gifts to the newly weds.

A wedding in the jungle would run as smoothly as a wedding in the city in spite of the challenges involved. The priest or registrar shall come to the wedding venue and provide his legal services.

The wedding is then preceded by a honeymoon safari. On the honeymoon, the newly weds will have an exclusive vehicle and driver for their use. Game drives shall be open and can be done anytime the couple feels like going. A honeymoon suite shall always be reserved for the newly weds.

A wedding and honeymoon in Kenya is bound to a special and memorable moment for any couple. The detail at which the organization is done is immaculate and impressive. Within 12 hours, you shall be delivered with an album with the best photos well placed and arranged. You will also receive an edited high quality DVD of your wedding. The raw copy shall also be given to you so that your special day remains with you forever.
