Enjoy Your Honeymoon With An Inexpensive Mediterranean Cruise

A Mediterranean cruise is a dream honeymoon for many couples, but a lot of them simply assume that such a dream is beyond their means. It is easy to see why people think this, especially since the cost of the wedding itself today is so high. Many couples feel there is simply not enough money left for a great honeymoon.

If a luxurious Mediterranean cruise is your dream, do not despair. Such a cruise may be more affordable than you think. For one thing, there are so many cruise lines and so many cruise ships vying for the lucrative honeymoon market, and that competition helps to lower prices. By shopping around, you can make your first cruise as husband and wife one you will always remember.

There are many travel related web sites that focus on travel and cruises to the Mediterranean, and they frequently offer discounted packages. It is important to search often, however, as these great deals are often snapped up quickly. It is important to be persistent to get the best deal.

After you have found the best deal on a low cost Mediterranean cruise, be sure to book it as soon as you can. There are many different packages available for Mediterranean cruises, so be sure to shop around to find the one that suits you best. There are a number of cruise lines and cruise ships that cater to honeymooners, and these ships often provide the most memorable, and most romantic, experiences.

In addition, these honeymoon themed cruise lines are often very good at providing some of the best deals to newlyweds. This is one area where you may want to consult a quality travel agent. Travel agents are often quite good at sniffing out deals on Mediterranean cruises for honeymoons, so be sure to let the travel agent know when you want to go and where you want to go.

If you can travel in the off season, or in the shoulder season, you may be able to spend a lot less on your Mediterranean cruise. The prices on these cruises often drop substantially after the high season has ended, so be sure to check for good deals in the off season.

It is important to start shopping early to book a honeymoon cruise, however. Just as the wedding takes lots of advance planning, so too with the honeymoon, particularly if your dream is a cruise to a popular destination like the Caribbean. By shopping around on the internet, however, shopping early and being persistent, you can probably score a much better deal than you ever imagined on the trip of a lifetime. Honeymoon Trends

by: Paris Permenter & John Bigley

While the traditional vows endure, the ways to celebrate a marriage have changed right along with the travel industry. Today's honeymooner may be looking for value, adventure, or variety and searching for a getaway that's as exotic as a stay in a private European castle or nearby as a local bed-and-breakfast inn.

One constant is that couples are willing to spend money on a honeymoon - an average of $1,402 per couple compared to $421 spent annually on regular trips according to the Travel Industry Association of America. Young couples, age 18 to 24 years, spend the most on honeymoons, averaging $1,873. And as many as one-third of all honeymooners spend over $2,500 for that once-in-a-lifetime trip.

And while the move is back toward the traditional wedding and honeymoon associated with earlier generations, today's newlyweds are a far cry from the travelers of earlier days. "They're looking more for luxurious and romantic places, like the little out-of-the-way small hotels and inns and private castles," points out Sylvie del Giudice, spokeswoman for Les Romantiques Hotels. "They're ready for a different experience. It's the experience of a lifetime. They are choosing to go further away on their honeymoon to a different environment and that includes everything: a different language, culture, and food."

Today's couples are finding new ways to celebrate their union, creating honeymoon trends that are being felt throughout the industry.

ALL-INCLUSIVE FUN

Started in Jamaica but spread throughout the Caribbean and Mexico and into some other regions as well, the all-inclusive vacation is becoming ever more popular with honeymooners - and their families. Their "one price pays all" policy makes the all-inclusive trip more and more convenient for parents purchasing a honeymoon package as a gift for newlyweds. Air, transfers, meals, drinks, watersports, and even tips are included in the tab at all-inclusive resorts.

GETTING MARRIED ON YOUR HONEYMOON

Getting married on your honeymoon is also an increasingly popular concept in the Caribbean, where resort packages provide everything from wedding cake to music. At some properties like SuperClubs (http://www.superclubs.com), guests can enjoy a free wedding, including the minister's fee and marriage license.

MEXICO AND CANADA

The devaluation of Canada and Mexico's currencies mean an increase in honeymoon business for financial reasons. Canada is also gaining popularity as a honeymoon hotspot. Couples looking for a white honeymoon find it in ski areas such as Banff, Whistler, and Jasper, and those seeking big city culture seek out cities like Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver. The current strength of the American dollar against the Canadian also makes our northern neighbor an attractive honeymoon destination. "Canada is extremely popular as a honeymoon destination," explains Judy Love Rondeau from the office of the Canadian Consulate General in Dallas. "Your money goes 40% further in Canada. Also, honeymooners like the cities of Montreal and Quebec City because they are like going to Paris without going so far and spending so much money."

CITY DESTINATIONS

For some couples, a chance to enjoy the romance of a big city and the elegance of fine dining makes major cities a honeymoon destination. A recent study by the American Society of Travel Agents showed that the most popular city was Las Vegas. Orlando, New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles were other top choices.

OVERSEAS DESTINATIONS

While some couples choose to vacation close to home, conserving both time and money, others see a honeymoon as a chance for a once-in-a-lifetime trip. For these travelers, it's the time for a fantasy journey to destinations whose very names mean romance. For these lucky honeymooners, the American Society of Travel Agents has found that Great Britain is the top European destination, followed by France and Germany.

"We see more and more honeymooners going to Europe versus the Caribbean," says Les Romantiques Hotels' Sylvie del Giudice. "People are getting married older, and they're more interested in the culture and the experience and the discovery of Europe. Or they want to go back to Europe. I deal a lot with people who went to Paris once and now want to show it to their spouse.

"They usually combine romantic cities like Paris, Florence, or Rome with a resort escape like the Riviera or Normandy or the Amalfi coast of Italy so they have the best of both worlds," explains del Giudice. "We have also noticed that honeymooners are becoming more and more adventurous and discovering new areas."

Looking for new European experiences is also bringing more honeymooners to less traditional destinations. Destinations like Portugal, Malta, and Turkey are gaining popularity.

ADVENTURE HONEYMOONS

The current trend toward adventure and eco-tourism vacations hasn't overlooked the honeymoon industry. "We have seen a number of newlyweds go on dude ranch vacations as well as our other trips like the cattle drives," says Dave Wiggins, president of Boulder, Colorado-based American Wilderness Experience. "It's the kind of thing for couples who are looking for something inspiring, something they can come back and say 'guess what we did on our honeymoon.'"

Although Wiggins has sold many honeymooners rugged adventure packages, ranging from a 10-day safari in Alaska to sea kayaking in Baja Mexico to river rafting along Idaho's Salmon River, many honeymooners favor soft adventure. "The lodge-based vacations tend to be more popular with honeymooners because they have a bed and roof over their head and a hot shower," points out Wiggins.

"We're seeing more and more soft adventure travel so we have more deluxe lodge-based options," points out Wiggins. Whether honeymooners overnight in a mountain cabin or in a seaside tent, however, he explains the popularity of adventure travel with today's travelers. "At a resort there's a lot to pick and choose, but you can find yourself being a spectator and watching the action go around. On an adventure trip, you're smack dab in the action. There's no sitting back and watching the action go by in front of you - you are the action on an adventure tour."

Finding that special quality is up to the individual honeymooners themselves. With the myriad of choices and a selection of atmosphere that ranges from white-knuckle adventure to hedonistic laziness, there's something for everybody.

Backyard Honeymoons

A small honeymoon budget does not mean you have to sacrifice romance. Nowhere is it written that you must travel to an exotic island and stay in a luxury resort. Maybe your idea of romance is snuggling in the same bedroll while camping out under the stars together.

Who knows? Only the two of you!

For super cheap honeymoons try looking in your own backyard. I don't mean "literally" your backyard, but I would be willing to bet that not far from you, there is a perfect little honeymoon getaway.

* If you are from a small town, go to the city. Enjoy the hospitality of an upscale hotel for a couple of nights. Be pampered!

* If you are from the city, get away from it all to a secluded little bed and breakfast inn on a lake somewhere.

Having traveled Canada and the United States all my life, I can tell you that the entire coastline of our North American continent is wondrous. Whether you are in Alaska, Maine, British Columbia, California or Florida, the beaches are breathtaking. Each has it's own special qualities that make it unique and beautiful.

You may be the type that enjoy polar bears, harp seals and whale watching in Alaska. Perhaps you are the outdoors type. Check out the lazy sea lions and try salmon fishing in British Columbia. While you are there, turn around and look at the mountains! They are amazing! Here in Georgia, you can watch and actually feed the dolphins that frolic in the ocean with you as you swim. If you are lucky, they will let you touch them.

A "beach" doesn't necessarily have to be on the ocean. There are some fabulous lakes that offer spectacular views - The Great Lakes for example.

If you can't get near water, choose a hotel with a great pool.

The point is, depending on your personal style, there is a "beach" for everyone!

Too often we are so busy looking for something better that we miss the obvious beauty right under our noses.

Choose that spot within driving distance from you and go for it! Remember, cheap honeymoons are where you find them. They don't have to cost thousands of dollars to be intimate and romantic.

By the way, while you are honeymooning - tell the world! You will be surprised at how many little perks and extras come your way once people know you are newlyweds! How to Plan Your Wedding and Honeymoon

 by: Sidney Strachan

1. Weddings typically can cost you anywhere around $15,000 or more. The big question is: who foots the bill?

The 21st century has heralded a shift in the way these costs are handled. We have moved away from the days when the family of the bride would pay all costs associated with the wedding ceremony . Today it may come down to who can afford it or, who can qualify for the personal loan from the lending institution.

Weddings may, in most cases, be a one time special event deserving of all the pomp and pageantry associated with the memorable day. However, there are ways to cut costs and still maximize the moment. Careful planning and budgeting are key to getting the most out of this experience at a reduced cost.

What should go into a wedding plan? When is too much, too much?

There are many things which makes a wedding a wedding. The old adage, "Something New, Something used and something blue, is a reliable guide to save.

Knowing what you need and how much it cost compared to your allotted budget for each item is essential. Your check list should include: Bride Gown and accessories, Groom's wedding attire, wedding rings, flowers, wedding cake, wedding site, reception site, photography/video services, limousine, ceremony fees, decorations, licence, honeymoon/travel, music/entertainment services, invitations, wedding consulting fees, beverage/drinks and type of wedding.

Generally, all of these items should be carefully itemized and an actual cost should be obtained from the service providers. Your budget fro each service or product should be include to help guide you and/or your wedding consultants. From this list you can determine things like the size of your guest list, bridal party and reception, cake and amount you can actually allocate to each specific area.

A good example is: if you are purchasing a wedding gown and accessories which can easily run into $1,500 or more and your budget is $600, you can opt to rent a gown and accessory which typically at the high end is around $400.

Knowing where you would like to host your wedding and the type of wedding you want is also very essential. Many people typically choose a traditional wedding (religious). These can go into many different cultures i.e. African, Jewish, Islamic, Irish etc. Different types of weddings typically carry varying price tags depending on the culture and how complex the ceremony or extravagant it is.

Honeymoons can be a another costly expense. Honeymoons can extend from that drive to another state to the extended Bahamas vacation or Carribean cruise. Many companies are now incorporating wedding and honeymoon packages in their vacation packages. This has its upside and downside. Marriage laws also vary from country to country.

June typically is noted as the wedding month. So, expect costs to be higher. However travel this and hotel charges during this time of the year to many destinations including the Bahamas may be less expensive.

If you know your budget then it may be beneficial to allow a wedding consulting firm to handle the arrangements. Statistics show that couples are so tired and stressed after the wedding 705 do not have sex on the first night of the honeymoon.

Hiring wedding consultant doesn't mean you lose control of your ceremony. It just saves you the hassle and stress of coordinating and implementing each individual activity and duty.

Your honey moon can be like any other vacation as far as proper planning is concerned. In order to save money, you must know what you want to do? Where you want to go? What you want to see? Consult with travel consultants in the country or area you plan to visit. Research well. Your trip does not have to be robotic or mechanical, but it can be cost effective and well organized.

TIPS

Below are a few cost saving tips for your special day.

Trim your guest list

Reduce the number of attendance in your bridal party and reception

Budget your honeymoon well

Choose the kind of wedding you like but can afford

Research: at least 6 months in advance

Book in advance: try the internet

Stay near home: try a friends remote cottage, town house or timeshare

Shorten your vacation stay

Travel and wed in the off season

Go on a Cruise: They are usually all inclusive

Eight cheap honeymoon ideas for couples on a budget

Between paying for the wedding and setting up a new household, many couples find theres not much money left in their budget for the honeymoon. But who says you have to spend a fortune to enjoy a romantic honeymoon at your dream destination? Here are eight ideas for a more affordable, yet still romantic, honeymoon.

1. Ask for the gift of a honeymoon
You can defray the cost of your honeymoon, or perhaps even cover the cost entirely, by listing it on a honeymoon gift registry. A honeymoon registry works just like a wedding registry, but instead of buying you china your wedding guests buy you a trip to China (or the honeymoon destination of your choice). Yes, your guests could just contribute cash toward your honeymoon, but giving a particular portion of the honeymoon (dinner at a fancy restaurant, or a carriage ride through the historic district of a far-off city, for example) is somehow more meaningful. Youll find a number of honeymoon registries online; theBigDay.com and theHoneymoon.com are two of the most established.

2. Exchange homes
If you prefer to mingle with the locals rather than other tourists, look into a home exchange for your honeymoon. In a nutshell, you go stay in someone elses house while they stay in yours. Sound risky? Maybebut tens of thousands of people have exchanged homes since the 1950s. For an annual membership fee (usually around $50), home exchange clubs open the door to thousands of people from around the world who are interested in swapping homes. You could probably find a home exchange partner on your own, but the home exchange clubs offer tools to help the exchange goes smoothly. According to ExchangeHomes.com, a home exchange can cut your travel costs by as much as half. More importantly, though, youll get to live like locals, and perhaps make life-long friends.

3. Rely on the hospitality of others
Hospitality clubs can hook you up with people who are willing to host you in their private homes; the largest such club has more than 23,000 members in 148 countries. Membership is usually free, although youre asked to provide hospitality to others (on a voluntary basis) sometime in the future. In addition to saving you money, its a great way to meet locals who can give you an insiders perspective on your honeymoon destination. Other places you can look for free or reduced-cost accommodations include hostels (theyre not just for the young and single anymore) and monasteries and convents, some of which open their doors to guests for little or no charge.

4. Win a free honeymoon
"Nothing in life is free"unless you win a free honeymoon vacation in a promotional sweepstakes or contest. Quite a few travel agencies and other companies run contests giving away honeymoon vacations as a way of promoting their services.
The odds of winning a free honeymoon may be remote, but the cost of entering is usually just the time you spend searching the web for honeymoon contest and filling out online entry forms.

5. Go camping
Firelight and shooting stars every night . . . breathtaking natural beauty . . . snuggling with your honey in a cocoon of zipped-together sleeping bags . . . . Yes, camping can be romantic, as long youre well prepared and have the right equipment (warm sleeping bags, a comfortable mattress pad, and a waterproof tent are a must). Plus, its pretty cheap--$10 to $20 per night at most locations. Its even cheaper if you cook your own food. You can mix a few nights of camping with a few nights in hotels to make your honeymoon more affordable. And dont overlook the rustic (but cheap) cabins available for rent at many state and national parks. Some even offer a honeymoon cabin!

6. Travel in the off season
It may be obvious to seasoned travelers, but those with less experience may not be aware of how affordable it can be to honeymoon in the off season: basically, any time other than when most people travel to your destination. Certain destinations accommodation and airfare prices may be slashed by 30 percent or more during the off-season compared to the peak travel season. Traveling in the off season doesnt necessarily mean enduring wintry weather. Fall and spring usually offer discounted rates as well.

7. Consider your airline alternatives
When booking airfare online, dont overlook the discount airlines (Southwest, Song, jetBlue, and so on); some are not listed on the big travel portal websites, even though they might have a lower fare to your destination. Also be sure to compare rates for alternate airports within a reasonable traveling distance. You might live half an hour from a major airport, but the smaller airport a couple hours away might have substantially lower fares, perhaps saving you hundreds of dollars. Finally, be flexible about your arrival and departure dates; the major travel portals all have options to search for the cheapest flights within a range of dates. Any one of these alternatives could potentially save you hundreds of dollars.

8. Check budget travel newsletters
If youre not picky about where you honeymoon, you can probably cash in on promotional deals offering deep discounts on airfare and lodgingif you know about them. Once you've mortgaged the rest of your life for the dress and the ceremony, made all sorts of promises in front of everyone you know and danced with your long-lost fifth cousin twice removed, you deserve a little time off to recuperate. It's called a honeymoon.

Your honeymoon is that wonderful period of grace between the fantasy of your wedding and the reality of simply being an old married couple. It's a time for the two of you to get to know each other as well as two people who are going to spend the next couple of days alone with only each other for company can. But not so alone that you can't ring for room service when you need it.

According to a recent survey by Modern Bride magazine, newlyweds are certainly not loathe to shell out when it comes to spending up on their honeymoon - on average, newlyweds spend $3,700 on their honeymoon. For the average wage earner, that's almost 10% of their annual income.

Honeymoon spending is high for a number of reasons. Firstly, for most of us it's a once-in-a-lifetime chance to live it up, favoring luxurious resorts and exotic cruises over a two-star just-off-the-highway motel. And the honeymoon is generally not the time for going to stay with mad old Aunty Gladys who you haven't seen since you were five.

No, honeymooners want their day in the sun, a time to luxuriate in the newness of coupledom and they are usually looking for something special. So if that means ordering that second bottle of champagne, or deciding on the lobster for dinner, most honeymooners don't give it a second thought.

To compile their list of Top 10 honeymoon destinations, the Modern Bride survey factored in romance, ambience, affordability, seclusion, culture and adventure amongst its list of important qualities. Here are the results for overall excellence:

1.Hawaii
2. Jamaica
3. Mexico
4.Tahiti
5. St Lucia
6. Italy
7. US Virgin Islands
8. Aruba
9. Las Vegas
10. Bermuda

While there are no real surprises on the list, the surprise is that there are not more distant, out-of-the-way places in the Top 10. Which only goes to prove that even honeymooners want value for money and the chance to explore new territory - but not too far from home. Of course, Italy is the one exception, but who couldn't imagine romantic visions of strolling through vineyards in Tuscany, or sipping grappa in a trattoria in Venice?

If your honeymoon is still in the planning phase, or even if you've already got your heart set on an exotic honeymoon destination, it's worth visiting Romantic Honeymoon Destinations. Although most of the destinations we've included are in the "let's max out the Amex card" type honeymoon, we've also included plenty of useful information for the more budget conscious "we smashed open the piggy bank to pay for this" honeymoon traveller in our Honeymoon Tips guide.

Just don't forget, it's YOUR honeymoon and one of the few chances most of us get to indulge a little. So whether that's the little village down the road you always wanted to visit or some exotic location, the most important honeymoon tip I can give you is HAVE FUN!

Bon voyage!

Heavenly Honeymoons--Advice and Tips for That Perfect Getaway!

Getting married is one of the most anticipated and exciting times of your life. And your honeymoon can be the most exciting and romantic trip you will ever take, since it represents a celebration of your love, your new marriage, and the lifetime commitment you have made. How do you get that "perfect" honeymoon? As with everything else that involves marriage, it is vitally important that you talk with your future spouse. Communication between partners is absolutely essential in a strong and enduring marriage--whether it be about financial decisions, the in-laws, or raising the kids. That communication channel can begin with the planning of the wedding ceremony and certainly with the decisions concerning the honeymoon.

Finding out what your future spouse has for honeymoon expectations and matching them with yours is a good place to begin when planning a honeymoon. Do you want to go around the block, or around the world? Do you want the honeymoon to be exciting and adventurous or lazy and relaxing? Do you want to save money, or really splurge on a big ticket vacation? Do you want sunshine or snow? (Hawaii or the Canadian Rockies) Do you want to marry in the same place you plan to honeymoon? Answering these questions can help insure that your honeymoon will fulfill your wildest dreams.

Remember, the best reason for a honeymoon is to rest, relax and regroup after the stresses and rigors of planning and conducting your wedding. The peace of mind which it can bring is worth every penny. Even if you are already living together, you will need to get away and relax after all the work you have done to get to this point. Do not treat your honeymoon like another vacation; it is a very special time! A time to bond, to set new directions, lay out goals as a married couple, and to renew your romance.

According to ancient traditions, the word "honeymoon" is based upon the practice of newlyweds drinking mead, called bride ale, which was produced from fermented honey. This beverage was consumed during the first month (and therefore "moon") of marriage. The fermented drink supposedly increased virility and fertility and, consequently, the first month of marriage was referred to as the honeymoon. It is only within the last 50-60 years, however, that honeymoons have gained wide popularity. With so-called "honeymoon destinations" emerging--Cancun, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Tahiti, Italy, Las Vegas, New Orleans--these post-wedding trips offered ordinary citizens a taste of what it was like to be wealthy. Chances are good that honeymoons are here to stay.

Romance is not just roses and candles. If you are adventurous newlyweds there a many ways to enliven your honeymoon. Scuba diving, snowmobiling, parasailing, skydiving, or couples' bungee jumping are a few of the ways to spice up your honeymoon and return home with unforgettable memories of that golden getaway.

An important word of advice: don't be afraid to mention the fact that you will be honeymooning when you're making reservations for a restaurant, hotel, or cruise. Announce it when you arrive. Tell everyone! You're happy and you're in love. Special accommodations and gifts, ranging from upgraded rooms to flowers or free champagne are often given to honeymooners.

Wedding Lingerie Honeymoon in Paradise

There are many things to remember in preparation for your wedding day.  Of the many items you cant forget, your wedding lingerie is very important.  Getting the most out of your big day is all about taking advantage of every experience.  This includes the honeymoon.

Traditions create many of the reasons why we do things, especially in weddings.  Youve spent so much time selecting the right invitations and the just the right dress, so why wouldnt you do the same with your intimate apparel.

Panties play an important role in everyday life, but a more important one under your bridal dress.  Many of the latest dress styles are more sensual and revealing than ever before.  White thong panties are the perfect answer to the panty question.  Thongs are required because there is a chance that your dress is slightly see through, and you dont want to give anything away.

Choosing the right bra might be just as easy.  You want support, yet you dont want your wedding guests to see it.  It also has to be seductive for the alone time that follows.  There are many strapless bras that provide wonderful support, while also adding a little more in the bust.  The design choices are intricate, with lacy designs that are easily transferred to the brides chambers.

Your stocking choice is maybe the most difficult decision to make.  There are many inexpensive options available, but they dont have the same appeal as vintage sexy stockings.  The traditional silk variety is head and shoulders above the competition.  Shiny, white legs will go a long way down the aisle and the dance floor.  Pantyhose just cant provide the appeal you are looking for in a stocking.

Last, but not least, is the traditional wedding garter.  It is customary to give this one out to a lucky someone in the wedding party, so you dont want to spend a fortune on it.  If you want to keep one for yourself, then you can go all out.  Find something that matches your personality, and make it fun.  The removal of the garter is just as traditional as any other custom.

Getting the most out of your wedding day shouldnt be contingent on your lingerie, but it will definitely have an impact on your memories.  Take a chance on your styles, and do it differently than all others.  Make your day more special for bride and groom with the little details that are so memorable.

Candles Go Only So Far: Five Ideas for a More Romantic Honeymoon

Candles, rose petals, satin, succulent foods, perfumeyoure probably already familiar with all of these time-honored ingredients for creating a romantic mood on your honeymoon. But candles, rose petals, and other sensual ingredients only go so far. The real key to creating a romantic honeymoon is to spend time celebrating your relationship and your new life together as a married couple. After all, romance is more about the heart than the body.

That doesnt mean you should put the candles away, but start setting the mood early by reveling in your relationship. Here are five ideas to get you started.

1. Explore uncharted territory
Intimacy is a key ingredient for creating a romantic mood. In its most basic sense, intimacy is about revealing our interior selves to another personthe part of ourselves that we normally hide from others. When we do this, we honor the other person as someone we cherish and trust. Since its often difficult to start sharing in this way, a game or book of questions can help. The classic game of relationship questions is the Ungame, while the classic questions book is (appropriately enough) The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock. Each of these products contains hundreds of questions on topics ranging from ethics (What would you do if . . . ?) to feelings and ideas. These are just two of many similar products that you can use in almost any settingeven in the car or airplane on the way to your honeymoon destination.

2. Combine Your Photo Albums
Buy your first photo album together, if you don't get one at your wedding. Bring out your photo albums and choose the best photos of each other from your dating days to put in your new albumit's a great way to relive old memories.

3. Write a Dream Letter
Write letters to each other about your dreams for your marriage. What do you hope your marriage will look like in ten, twenty, or thirty years? Exchange the letters on the first day of your marriage, and then save them to read on your wedding anniversary.

4. Leave Memory Notes Everywhere
Nothing creates a romantic mood better than remembering your best moments together as a couple. Purchase some small notepaper or post-it notes and spend some time digging up your favorite memories of your spouse. How did you meet? How did your first kiss come about? What is the goofiest thing he or she ever did? When was your spouse there for you when you needed him or her the most? Then spend some time thinking of the memories youd most like to share with your spouse over the course of your marriage. Write these all down on the note paper, and hide them all over the place at your honeymoon destination (on the pillow, in the luggage, in the rental car, etc.).

5. Share the Love
The funny thing about love is you get more by giving it away. That's as true for newlyweds as for anyone else, so find ways to share your love with others. Start by committing random acts of kindnessboth toward each other and complete strangers. Visit the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation web page for inspiration (http://www.actsofkindness.org/). One of our favorite stories there is about a young woman who was caught in the rain when a complete stranger gave her his own umbrella. When she asked how she would return it to him, he just smiled and walked away. Creating great memories like that adds a magical twist to your honeymoon.

Honeymoon Hot Destinations

Ahh, the honeymoon, whether it be a trip to Vegas or a quiet beach hideaway it will always be remembered as one of the best and most important vacations you've ever gone on. Here's the Wedding Wonderful hotlist of great honeymoons.

NORTH AMERICA AND CARRIBBEAN

Las Vegas, Neveda-- Las Vegas is like nothing else in this world. The lights, the gambling, the shows, the $4.99 prime rib, you'll find it all here in Las Vegas like nowhere else. For the couple who enjoys gambling, seeing shows, and the night life this is the perfect trip.

Orlando, Florida-- Orlando is not just for kids, Walt Disney World and the newer Universal Studios rank as one of the top honeymoon destinations in the world. Not only does Central Florida have the draw of the theme parks, but also plenty of beaches and other attractions. This is the perfect trip for the couple who enjoys roller coaster fun in the sun.

Niagara Falls, New York/ Canada-- Once the classic honeymoon destination, Niagara Falls is still a great choice for couples interested in sightseeing rather than laying on the beach. Both the American and Canadian sides are great, but most of the action, including gambling, occurs on the Canadian side and you have a better view of the falls.

Hawaii-- The main destination of choice for today's honeymooners, Hawaii offers the perfect combination of sightseeing and beach fun. We selected the Big Island of Hawaii for a place on our top ten honeymoon beaches list, but Maui, Oahu, and Molokai are great options too.

New York City-- The everything capitol of the world. New York is full of exciting cultural and sightseeing opportunities. Our pick for the most romantic NYC activity? A moonlight horse and buggy ride in Central Park.

Hilton Head, South Carolina-- Long known for being a golfing mecca, Hilton Head is quickly developing into one of the biggest northeast honeymoon destinations. The Old South is alive and kicking here both architecturally and in terms of hospitality and the white sand beaches are some of the prettiest you'll find in this part of the country.

Poconos, Pennsylvania--Nothing screams heart shaped hot tub more than the Poconos. This once premiere honeymoon destination is still a wonderful choice for couples who want to relax and enjoy the great outdoors mountain style.

Puerto Rico-- Puerto Rico has long been a hot spot for beach loving couples and buffs of history. San Juan is the oldest US-owned capitol city and the whole island is rich in Spanish culture. Nightlife including dancing and casinos abounds.

The Bahamas-- The Bahamas is a string of 700 islands, the most popular of which are located just off the coast of Florida. Nassau, the capitol and any of the beaches on Grand Bahamas Island or Paradise Island are popular with honeymooners. Our Bahamas beach pick? Pink Sands.

Bermuda-- The island of Bermuda and it's infamous "triangle" are located about 500 miles off the coast of North Carolina. This string of 150 islands is famous for it's pink sand beaches and unique pastel architecture. St. George is the main honeymoon destination.

Caymen Islands-- The Caymens are located about 430 miles south of Miami and although these islands have become popular lately, they are much less commercialized than many other Caribbean destinations. This is the perfect trip for the couple who prefers quiet days in the sand and snorkeling to a wild nightlife. Grand Caymen Island is the most popular island.

Jamaica--Jamaica is famous for it's white sand beaches and waterfalls as well as it's regee culture. Although it is not quiet as popular as some other Caribbean destinations due to concern about crime this is still a great vacation for those who enjoy a tropical setting. Nergil Jamaica made our list as one of the top ten honeymoon beach sites.

The Virgin Islands-- Half US owned and half British owned, the most popular Virgin Island destinations include St. John, St. Thomas, St. Croix, and Tortola. St. Thomas and St. Croix, both US owned are huge tourist destinations while St. John and Tortola are popular but less touristy. We picked the island of St. John as one of the ten best honeymoon beaches in the world.

Mexico-- The beaches of Mexico are said to be some of the best in the world and like many of the Caribbean islands very snorkeling and SCUBA diving friendly. The most popular honeymoon spots include Acapulco, Cancun, and Puerto Vallarta. Acapulco made our list of the top ten honeymoon beaches in the world.

EUROPE

Italy-- Italy has long been the world center for romance and Italy is generally one of the most popular Europen honeymoon destinations. Want romance? Spoleto, Bellagio, and Todi are recommended by Frommer's. For historical sites we recommend the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, Pompeii, the Vatican Museums, and the Academy Galley art museum.

France-- Whether it's hitting the beach at the French Rivera or seeing Paris from the Eiffel Tower, France offers a great deal of romance. For history buffs, Chteau de Versailles is said to be the most opulent palace in the world and the Louvre contains some of the world's most famous artwork. The vineyards of Bordeaux and the French Alps are terrific options for couples looking for a more serene scene.

London, England-- London offers the cosmopolitan couple almost everything they could want in a honeymoon destination-- culture, history, scenery, and a kicking nightlife. Westminster Abby, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the Houses of Parliament are must sees.

Prague, Czech Republic-- A piece of the Old World in modern Europe, Prague is an exotic and deeply historical city. This is the place where Mozart lived (the movie Amadeusreally was primarily shot in Prague) and is famous for it's hundreds of spires. Romantic ideas include visiting the Prague castles and taking your own dinghie for a row at night on the Vltava.

Make your honeymoon an everlasting experience

Honeymoon is the most wonderful time of every couples life. It is a time to move away from all the hustle and bustle and to relax in the arms of your partner in your own world. Such a special occasion demands some planning. Planning can make your honeymoon worthwhile.

Talk amongst yourself and discuss which is the place that both of you like. If you both want to keep your honeymoon confined to your state, surely United States is a perfect place to enjoy the exclusive moments. You can opt for the breathtaking city of New York, the dynamic city of Las Vegas, Chicago with its adorable summers or the ecstatic Michigan Avenue South in winters. If you are an admirer of beaches, the spell bound beaches of Miami are always a perfect and open option. Honeymoons within your state are relatively less expensive than those planned abroad. But the excitement and the exuberance is the same in both the cases.

If you want to freak out abroad with your partner, there are several places to go. The awesome and romantic places in New England like Marthas Vineyard, Cape Cod, Newport, Maines seacoast and so forth have their own charm that magnetizes the honeymoon couples. Not to forget are the superlative and incredible Niagara Falls and the Great Smoky Mountains. These are some of the evergreen honeymoon destinations that are thronged and adored by the couples.
Besides your discretion also consider the weather and the climatic conditions of the place you plan to explore. For instance in the case of extreme cold a move to a warm and cozy destination is an excellent idea.

Budget is always the highest parameter to plan any thing. Just calculate the amount that you can spend on your honeymoon without a second thought. If you have a low budget, try to minimize the luxuries. For instance staying in a five star hotel, traveling through Cruise etc. can be cut down upon. You can take up an average hotel room and eat the food at a local restaurant. But dont commit the mistake of staying at your friends or relatives house. For that will leave you with least privacy and tremendous frustration. It is also better not to opt for a place, which is too expensive according to you for this can land you into soup.

Always decide the means to travel to your destination according to your budget. If your budget does not allow you to take a first class seat in the plane, go for a second class. If you propose to stick to your state, driving is never a bad option. Generally during the wedding season all the airlines, cruises and travel agencies provide some special packages especially for the honeymoon couples. These packages provide ample of facilities and at a comparatively low cost than usual. It is a nice idea to avail these opportunities.

Take a travel agent that can advise and inform you about the different honeymoon spots, latest and beneficial packages, the cost etc. according to your budget. You can also search it out yourself at the internet.
Last but not the least avoid taking heavy luggage with you. This gives a chance to shop around and buy memorable things from your honeymoon destination. If you are making a trip overseas get travel insurance done to have a carefree and happy journey. Also keep all the essentials like your credit cards, medicines, creams, camera, some foodstuff and the like for it is better to have your own things than to hunt for them at a new place.

So keep these tips in mind that make your honeymoon best amongst the rest!
