Preparing For The Honeymoon Trip

Preparing for the wedding alone is already a headache. But it does not mean that you disregard the preparation for your honeymoon trip. Since wedding does not end after the exchange of vows, preparing for the honeymoon trip is equally important with preparing the wedding. And since this trip is the best time for you to spend your first days together as husband and wife, it should be taken into great account.

To make your honeymoon preparation less worrisome, here are some tips you can follow:

Plan ahead of time

Preparation should begin early. If you want to go to a honeymoon trip after the wedding celebration, then you should have already prepared for it long before the wedding day. Meanwhile if you will go to a honeymoon trip weeks after your wedding day, it is not an excuse to plan late. Preparing for the wedding day is also not an excuse to plan after the wedding. Everything should be prepared. Make sure you have already determined or have booked and made reservation on the location of your trip.

Create a checklist of everything

If the schedule is hectic and there is so much to do, you surely would forget some important things. Do avoid this from happening; create a checklist of everything you need to prepare. This does not only go with the honeymoon trip; it should also apply to the whole wedding preparation itself.

Finalize your travel documents

Make sure that your travel documents are all set before your honeymoon trip. Doing this early would save you a lot of trouble when the day closes near. If you are traveling outside the country, if is advisable to complete all your travel documents and keep them in a safe place.

Confirm your booking and reservation

Booking your flight and accommodation is not enough. You should confirm them days before you go. Making sure that everything is set and prepared once you arrive should be your primary concern.

Relax

After you?re stressful wedding preparation, you surely would not want to add pressure on your head. Keep in mind that one reason why you are going for a honeymoon trip is to relax, so you should relax. There is no reason why you should make the preparation for your honeymoon trip troublesome. Wedding preparation is stressful enough. You should not add some more.

5 Honeymoon Money Saving Tips

The honeymoon will always be an important aspect in every wedding plan no matter how tight the budget is. While the wedding ceremony is the highlight of every relationship ending up in the altar, the couple will always look forward to the honeymoon.

Every newly- wedded couple will always feel the stress of wedding preparations. Even couples who are wise enough and who are capable of getting a wedding planner will not be exempt from the after- wedding desire to be stress- free. Thus, almost all couples will always consider their honeymoon the best part of getting married.

Honeymoon is a time to rest after all the wedding- related stress; it is a time to enjoy the company of each other away from the peering eyes of friends and relatives. It is a time for the couple to get to know each other better and intimately.

While majority of couples want their honeymoon to be wonderful, there is always the financial aspect that they have to contend with. The wedding ceremony may be the focal point of the whole preparation but the preparation itself requires a budget. The bride and groom and the entourage has to pay for their wedding dresses and tuxedos. The couple has to pay for the wedding services, the license, the wedding cake, the dinner and all wedding requirements.

What usually happens is that the couple spends too much on the wedding preparation that they end up having little and sometimes no budget for the honeymoon. But who said a couple could not have a romantic honeymoon if they o not have a large budget?

A honeymoon is basically already a romantic event because it is the time when the newly- wedded couple bond with each other. This alone should make the honeymoon romantic and memorable. Of course, there are at least five ways to make honeymoon a memorable event, even for a meager budget.

Every couple should take note of these five honeymoon money saving tips so they can have a fabulous time on their honeymoon without worrying about large financial requirements.

1. Avail of the services of a honeymoon registry so the guests will know what you need and want as a wedding gift

Gone are the days when a couple has to suffer in silence while opening the fifth identical wedding gift they have received; a dinnerware set. Through the wedding registry, the couple can inform the guests that they want or that they are in need of a honeymoon package. Guests who can afford such package can give them a free honeymoon instead of giving a gift that the couple does not need or a gift that they already have. Some of their friends may pool their resources together and gift them with a honeymoon package. This would mean great savings for the couple as well as a fabulous and free honeymoon.

2. Plan the honeymoon ahead of time and avail of promotions offered by resorts as early as one year away from the wedding date

Planning is till the best way to keep your resources intact and become more cost effective in your expenditures. With proper planning, the couple can take advantage of honeymoon packages or resort promotions offered by resort owners. There are honeymoon destinations that are offering big discounts for reservations made ahead of time. Some even offer as much as fifty percent discount for couples who book their honeymoon months before their wedding. This is to ensure the future income of the resorts. By availing of these promotions, the couple will not only be able to save on their finances but will also be able to plan their honeymoon itinerary ahead of time.

3. Spend your honeymoon in a fabulous tourist island but take advantage of home- stay programs offered by some areas

Some areas offer home- stay programs to promote their tourism at a lower cost. Local governments sometimes promote their tourism by gathering responsible folks and training them to become home- stay partners. Under this scheme, the homes of respected locals are accredited by the tourism officials and they become official tourist h9ome- hotels. Home stay accommodations are generally less expensive than hotels. Availing of this package can save the couple thousands of dollars that would have been spent for hotel accommodation alone.

4. Why not try being one with nature and go camping for your honeymoon instead of staying in an expensive hotel?

Couples who are nature lovers can go backpacking for their honeymoon and enjoy others company with only the moon and the stars as witnesses. His could be the best and the most romantic idea for a non- expensive honeymoon. Instead of paying hundreds of dollars for hotel accommodations save the money for other important matters and take a nice trip to a deserted island.

5. Timing is important so plan your honeymoon, if not the wedding during off season

Tourist and honeymoon facilities offer as much as fifty percent discount for tourists who would visit their establishments during non- peak seasons. Do not time the honeymoon with summer or other dates when tourists would be flocking to the islands or resorts because this would be very expensive. Visit these areas during the off- peak season can mean less cost and more privacy.

14 Tips for an Affordable but Comfortable Tropical Honeymoon

The Affordable but Comfortable Tropical Honeymoon: Tip List

1. Schedule your departure day two days after the wedding to give you ample time for rest after the activities and the celebrations. If you must travel immediately, remember to leave in the middle of the day and not the early morning so you?ll get a good night?s sleep.

2. Ask your travel Agent for Honeymoon Packages, these usually offer the best destinations for honeymooners, not to mention discounts and freebies.

3. Never, ever overbook day trips, you?re not just traveling, you?re with your new Spouse, better save up some energy for the night?s fireworks.

4. Don?t be afraid to ask questions, ask about certain perks, events.

5. In addition to the above, don?t be afraid to request extra stuff, like a big bathtub, a double bed, or a romantic view.

6. Don?t forget to bring your marriage Certificate along with you, especially if the name of the bride is already under her husband?s name.

7. Pack your camera and lots of film; you won?t want to miss anything. You might also want to pack a disposable underwater camera and extra batteries, these are absurdly pricey in tourist spots, and you wouldn?t want to overspend.

8. Mention to anyone, especially in the caf? or in the tour boat, that you?re on your honeymoon, yes this may sound a bit embarrassing, but some restaurants give extras like free drinks or gifts for honeymooners. This also works for birthday celebrants.

10. If you want an active honeymoon, research and prepare for water sports; the tropics are a great place, to learn them, always remember to consult hubby before you try one though.

11. Stock up on sun protection. The higher the SPF the better, as you?ll probably be spending whole days out in the sun; you wouldn?t want to get skin cancer after just two weeks of marriage.

12. Some travel agencies include island hopping trips, these are great ways to explore, and enjoy. This is especially good because you?ll get a change in scenery, and won?t easily get bored, especially if you have an extended honeymoon.

13. Even if your valuables are inside your hotel room, keep them under lock, and if you decide to bring them with you, always watch out for stray pickpockets.

14. Bring with you a stock of candles and massage oils that you can place inside your hotel room for that romantic evening after touring and swimming.

And finally, have some fun, relax and enjoy youself.

Wintertime Honeymoon Vacation Ideas in Yellowstone

Yellowstone area is a big draw for honeymooners. If you're looking for ideas, check out our Top Ten Activities and Winter Activities pages at www.yellowstone-area-guide.com. My son and his wife spent their honeymoon in West Yellowstone and the surrounding area just last December (2005). They absolutely loved it.

When most people go on their honeymoon they don't particularly want a set agenda where they need to keep a schedule. Still, there are some that want to squeeze as many activities as they can. I've put together several sample agendas that take the work out of planning your honeymoon. My wife, being the romantic that she is, has helped me put this article together. So here are some great honeymoon vacation ideas.

West Yellowstone Honeymoon

Sample Agenda #1

Wakeup, eat breakfast at your hotel or eat at the Running Bear Pancake House. It's located at 538 Madison Avenue. It's easy to find and they serve an excellent breakfast.

After breakfast drive or walk on over to #208 Electric Street. Once there, find Yellowstone Arctic Yamaha, go inside and rent 2 snowmobiles. Get a good map of the trails in the West Yellowstone and Island Park area, and go have a blast. Another option; call beforehand and make reservations (406 646-9636) to take a guided snowmobile tour inside Yellowstone Park. There is really nothing like seeing Yellowstone with a blanket of snow covering everything. Make it a half-day or full-day excursion. Take a lunch.

After eating, go to the Yellowstone IMAX. Each show starts on the hour beginning at 9 am and running until 9 pm.

When the show is over, if you haven't had dinner, go to Bullwinkles Saloon and Eatery. They are at #19 Madison.

Go back to your room and relax. Winter Sample Agenda #2

Wake up and get breakfast.

Go cross country skiing on the Rendezvous Trail System. It's an olympic class trail. You can rent skis at Bud Lillys Trout Shop or FreeHeel and Wheel. If you're a novice, they can give you some basic instruction. It's an activity that you can do for an hour or all day long.

Jackson Hole Honeymoon

Winter Sample Agenda #3

Get breakfast.

Spend the rest of the day downhill skiing. You have 2 resorts to choose from; Snow King right in Jackson or Jackson Hole Mountain Resort at Teton Village. Both offer great skiing.

In the afternoon or evening when you get done with your hike, instead of driving straight back to Jackson, swing around to the west and stop at the Mangy Moose in Teton Village. They have a restaurant as well as a bar. After dinner, head back to your hotel for some R & R.

Winter Sample Agenda #4

Get breakfast.

Drive to the elk refuge and take a sleigh ride out to feed the elk. Rides are on a first come first served basis. They depart 3 or 4 times every hour.

Get some lunch.

In the afternoon go to Teton Village and take a tram ride up the hill and back. Remember, though, that the tram will be closed until 2008. Even though the main aerial tram is being replaced, you can still get up the mountain on the Bridger Gondola.

In the evening take a Solitude Cabin sleigh ride and dinner. They serve roast prime rib au jus, filet of broiled salmon, or vegetarian entree. Good stuff. Call their phone number at (307) 739-2603 to make reservations.

These are some good honeymoon vacation ideas for you to look over. If you don't like a set agenda, you can still glean from these ideas and do what you want at your leisure.

5 Travel Tips for your honeymoon

1. Set a budget, go to a travel agent and find the best and cheapest travel packages available. After all this is your honeymoon you want it to be special but you also don't want to come back from your honeymoon, and then realize that you are broke and have to live off bread and peanut butter for three months.

2. Arrange all you honeymoon plans before hand, you don't want to run round and make travel arrangements on the day of your wedding. Make your reservations at least 4 to 6 months ahead of time, to get the most suitable rooms and the best flight times.

3. Don't go to a particular destination, at the wrong season. Your time their will be boring, uninteresting and u will wish that your honeymoon was over. Plan ahead and find out which season is suitable for a great honeymoon.

4. Don't check in your wedding dress at the airport, take it with you on the plane. You don't want to arrive at your destination and find that your dress has disappeared. This will only upset u and u will start thinking about funny little things, like this is a sign that u shouldn't get married. Please take your dress with you on the plane we don't want you to leave your husband to be, high and dry at the altar.(the same goes for the groom)

5. Take all your documents with you in your handbag. Don't leave it in the hands of airport officials. When your luggage disappears, all you will get from them will be a look of confusion. Goffe Holt is a travelholic. Visit Africa Honeymoons

Bora Bora Honeymoons

Bora Bora has been the ultimate honeymoon venue ever since the advent of modern tourism. This has nothing to do with the snob value of having vacationed there ? it is just that the island is probably the most romantic spot on the planet. The hearts of newlyweds cannot help but respond to the natural splendor of the emerald lagoon, the timeless magnificence of the twin granite pillars and the pristine beaches. And is in the case of most other tropical islands, Bora Bora?s unique climate even seems to work as a natural aphrodisiac.

Since it is not crassly commercialized and cluttered with the usual trappings of the tourist trade, Bora Bora is the perfect setting for new couples to get to know each other better. Nothing intrudes on the privacy that is so much called for during a honeymoon ? the islanders appear to have an instinctive respect for romantic solitude. Many married couples consider their honeymoon at Bora Bora ? the leisurely walks along the moonlit lagoon, catching the sunrise and sunset on one of the beaches and meals expertly prepared by true masters of the trade-- to have a lingering effect.

There is something for every kind of honeymooning couple on Bora Bora. If the leanings are towards an extravagant splurge in bohemian luxury, it?s available at the many elite hotels and resorts that are spread over Bora Bora. The adventurous have no shortage of things to do ? despite its natural blessedness, the island is not an isolated phenomenon in the Polynesian chain. There is an enormous amount of tropical terrain to explore.

Many couples go a step further than just honeymooning at Bora Bora ? they even get married there. Tying the knot in a legally binding and valid manner is not exactly an easy process, and there are various formalities to follow. It is, however, possible. Or you may wish to have a spectacular mock-up marriage that immediately follows or precedes the legal one elsewhere. Fijian Honeymooning

Fijian accommodations offer sun drenched beaches, friendly attitudes and crystal clear water. For a honeymoon, Fijian accommodations are simply one of the best options available for romance, seclusion and sun.

Fijian Honeymooning

Fiji is a group of islands that are officially known as the Republic of the Fiji Islands and it is located in the southern Pacific Ocean. Fiji is an archipelago that contains 322 islands and 522 islets, but only 106 of these are permanently occupied. The capital city of Fiji is Suva, and this city is located on the island of Viti Levu ? one of the two most populous islands in Fiji. Vacationing in the islands of Fiji can be a romantic and very private experience, and the many Fijian honeymoon packages offer couples a great way to take their first trip as man and wife.

All Fijian honeymoon suites and rooms are perfect for couples who want to have an exotic and unique honeymoon vacation. One of the most luxurious and romantic destinations on Fiji is the Vatuele Island, a five star accommodation located on a Fijian island that is completely surrounded by a coral reef. Situated on three quarters of a mile of white sand beach, the Vatuele Island has a few strict policies for their guests. They include no telephones, TVs, cash transactions (charge to your room), newspapers or even shoes! This combination of relaxed atmosphere and no outside invasions make this resort a great place for lovers who want to shut out the world. Additionally, since there are only 18 bures (bungalows) located at the resort, there is a sense of personalized service and luxury that's not always found at other hotels. The many different types of cuisine, some served in a cave or on a lagoon, make this destination very appealing to those who want a full sensory experience.

Another great Fijian honeymoon package is located at the Lalati on Beqa Island. This destination, which is situated on ten acres of white sand beach in a rainforest setting, has only seven bures ? which makes for a very private honeymoon spot. Activities at the Lalati include such water sports as scuba diving and canoeing, and a spa on the premises allows couples to have a relaxing massage or dip in an infinity pool.

Choosing Fiji for your romantic honeymoon is a great choice. This beautiful Pacific island nation offers atmosphere, climate and amenities that are perfect for couples who want to spend some time really getting to know each other, and be alone to just enjoy each other's company. Fijian honeymoon packages are so idealic, they are third most popular choice amongst all honeymoon destinations.

Planning Your Honeymoon Adventure

The wedding is just the beginning. There's plenty of excitement planning the honeymoon as well, from choosing a travel adventure to deciding on what to bring along on the journey. And for many, planning this great "escape" is just as important as planning the actual wedding. Regardless of where you decide to go, there are some things you should know to make it the kind of experience you want it to be.

First, you must decide on a budget. If money is not an issue, bon-voyage! However, if you're like most engaged couples, you're already paying more than you anticipated. Establish a budget and use it as a guide.

You'll also need to decide whether you want an all-inclusive, one-price-does-it-all, leave-the-wallet-at-home type of trip, or a more do-it-yourself package with car rental, lodging, food, and activities on an a la carte basis. Cruises technically fall under the all-inclusive category, as do resorts.

Of course, honeymoon budgeting takes on a new meaning if you decide to do a "destination wedding". These are becoming very popular as more and more couples decide to forego the traditional wedding costs in addition to the honeymoon expense. There are especially popular with second marriages. It's easier to get married in some countries than others, so be sure to check with a reliable source, like a country's consulate or the U.S. Department of State, before making any arrangements.

Now you need to book and pay for this trip. Many honeymoon suppliers offer special rates for early booking, which may or may not include airfare. Packages that include airfare can offer significant savings because retailers buy airline seats in at a discount, then package hotel, and sometimes car rentals as well.

You may also want to consider using a honeymoon gift registry to help with expenses. Check with your local travel agent to see if they offer this kind of service or you can investigate more on the internet. A good place to start is at www.TheHoneymoon.com. Honeymoon registries allow guests, friends and family to contribute toward specific elements of your honeymoon, like shore excursions, parasailing, spa services, and tours.

Planning The Perfect Honeymoon

One of the most exciting things about first getting married is taking a honeymoon with your new spouse. Planning a honeymoon can be an arduous task as things come into play such as time off and especially cost. Also you want to pick the perfect honeymoon as it will be something the newly married couple will always remember.

When planning a honeymoon the couple needs to find out what they will both enjoy. Pick a destination where both people will enjoy. If the groom loves baseball and plans a spring training honeymoon the wife will probably not have the best time unless she is an avid baseball fan as well. Picking a honeymoon where both parties will be happy and enjoy the setting and activities associated with the honeymoon.

One important aspect which comes into play in planning a honeymoon is price. Obviously every married couple would want to go to a tropical paradise where there week is relaxing and romance filled. But don?t go overboard and go into debt going on a honeymoon as it could cause the married couple financial headaches later.

Live within your means when taking a honeymoon and go somewhere where both parties will enjoy. If you do decide on the grand honeymoon, even though it is a once in a lifetime occurrence make sure that the bills that come later don't cause problems!

In planning a honeymoon the time of year is important as well as time off from work. If you want to go to a tropical destination research the area first as obviously you don?t want to be on an idyllic beach during the monsoon season! If you have to schedule the honeymoon around working schedules then pick a destination that will be good for the time that you do have.

Also if you know exactly where you want to go you can postpone the honeymoon a while to get either a better deal or go to the desired destination at the time that is right for you.

Honeymoons - A most precious time that may only come once in your life.

A wedding is one of the most stressful events of your life. With all the ceremony, anxiety and organisation, it's no wonder that people started taking a holiday straight after marriage to get away from the relatives and just enjoy each other's company.

Honeymoons have changed over the years. Destinations that are more romantic are often being replaced with more exotic getaways, sunny or tropical countries. Some people do still pick the romantic places however, not necessarily going abroad to find the perfect retreat. Many couples take their honeymoon in a place that has nostalgic value, like a city that the couple met in or had their first date. An increasing trend for honeymoons is totally wild and unexpected places like safaris or mountain climbing.

The word honeymoon is hard to pin down for an origin. Some say that it comes from ancient times in Babylon when the father of a bride, in an attempt to make the husband more virile, would supply him with as much mead as he could drink for a month. The mead is made from honey and the moon denotes a period of a month. This theory however is often set aside in favour of other theories. One put forth by an old English dictionary suggests that instead of a month of sweetness the term refers to the suggestion that a new marriage starts pleasant and sweet but will soon wane just like the moon.

Honeymooners should be careful when picking a location. First of all, many travel agents offer deals for honeymooners so shop around and don't be afraid to say that you are going on a honeymoon. The same goes when you are at your destination; many hotel owners will do you favours such as a bottle of wine if they know you are celebrating marriage. This can go a huge way towards making the time even more special, along with a thoughtful gift and maybe some flowers, and will help you have a honeymoon that you will never forget.

How To Plan A Romantic, Yet Affordable Honeymoon

Getting married is one of the biggest moments in anyone?s life. It?s the harmonious union of two people in love. However, that love can quickly start to fizzle if the honeymoon is too costly and turns into a travel nightmare. Anytime you travel or attempt to book travel plans, there is the possibility of something going wrong. And when you?re traveling for the first time as a married couple, you want your getaway to be as enjoyable and trouble-free as possible.

If you?re getting married soon and want to book a romantic AND trouble-free honeymoon to an international destination without leaving you broke, you need to think ahead and establish your travel budget, choose your destination carefully, and find international travel deals.

Establish Your Honeymoon Travel Budget

One thing that many couples don?t do before they start planning their honeymoon is establish what they can afford to spend on the trip. When dealing with international travel, travel expenses such as international airfare, car rentals, hotel rooms, and other items can add up very quickly. And since it?s a honeymoon rather than a student travel trip, you don?t want to end up staying in a hostel because you ran out of money. So, before you even select a destination, establish exactly how much you have to spend on all items involved in your honeymoon. This includes meals, travel expenses, souvenirs, and any other high-priced items. Remember, traveling internationally can be costly; so if you don?t want to end up sleeping on a park bench on your honeymoon, establish your travel budget before you choose a destination.

Choose Your Honeymoon Destination Wisely

Once you have established your honeymoon travel budget, the next step is to choose your destination. When selecting a honeymoon destination, it?s a good idea to first list what activities you?d like to do. Are you interested in scuba diving? Do you want to visit museums? If so, what types of museums? After you?ve created your list, compare it to your spouse?s list; see what activities you both have in common, and create a final list.

After your list is finalized, decide when you?re going to go. The time of year you travel will dictate what countries/cities you can visit to complete as many items on your list as possible. For example, if you want to layout on the beach every day during your honeymoon, but you?re getting married in February, you want to find a honeymoon destination that is sunny and warm in February. The key to choosing the ideal honeymoon destination is selecting a location that satisfies your travel activities, offers the optimal climate to complete those activities, and is within your travel budget.

Find International Travel Deals

Most newly wed couples don?t have a fortune to spend on their honeymoon. However, many couples still want to have a honeymoon that?s exotic, international, and romantic. So the solution to having the most romantic, yet affordable honeymoon possible is to find international travel deals. The Internet is a great place to look for international travel deals and discounts on airfare. Discounted travel rates and cheap airfare deals can be found online on travel web sites and through online travel consolidators, like cFares. These travel sites contract with the different airlines and use airfare search engine technology to get the best international travel deals on flights around the world. So if you?re looking for a way to save a bundle on your honeymoon, search the Internet for international travel deals.

Romantic Honeymooning Resort Deals

After dealing with all the demands of a wedding, you don't need more stress on your honeymoon. Romantic honeymooning resort deals save you money and take the stress out of the process.

Romantic Honeymooning Resort Deals

Planning the perfect honeymoon can be anything but relaxing. The stress of choosing a perfect location, time of year, and finding the best deal for your trip can all add up - making planning your honeymoon a chore instead of something to look forward to. One way to avoid the stress of planning a full honeymoon is to choose one of the many ready made deals that are available from travel websites and travel agents. Pre-set deals can definitely make this part of wedding planning easier and more enjoyable.

St. Lucia, named one of the top ten honeymoon destinations in the world, is one spot that has quite a few deals to choose from. St. Lucia is a smaller island nation that's located in the Caribbean, and has over its history, been a colony of Great Britain, and a member of the Federation of the West Indies. Currently (since 1979) St. Lucia has been an independent state within the Commonwealth of Nations - and the main spoken language here is English.

There are many different resorts that make perfect honeymoon spots on St. Lucia, and several of them offer honeymoon deals. One of these is the Ladera Resort, known as the most beautiful hideaway on St. Lucia. With extremely private rooms, overlooking the Les Pitons, this resort features a private plunge pool as well as gorgeous canopy beds in the rooms. Available at this resort is also a combination package, which allows you to stay for some of your honeymoon at the Sandals Regency Resort located in the northern part of the island, and then spend the balance of your honeymoon at the Ladera Resort.

The Body Holiday, an all-inclusive resort located on St. Lucia, is another choice for couples wanting a great romantic retreat. This spa resort with programs that are meant to rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit offers couples a different sort of island experience, but one that is still secluded and private. With 154 air conditioned rooms, the style of this resort may vary from others on St. Lucia, but the same breathtaking views and perfect beaches are available at this spot.

St. Lucia's many resorts offer some of the best of the Caribbean's romantic honeymoon options, and the lack of language barrier (for Americans) as well as the secluded feel of this small island makes St. Lucia the honeymoon destination you've been looking for.

Romantic Honeymooning Destinations

Honeymooning is supposed to be all about romantic moments, but it can be difficult if there are thousands of other people there with you. Here are a couple romantic destinations that do not present this problem.

Romantic Honeymooning Destinations

There are tons of romantic honeymooning destinations scattered all over the world. Whether you prefer a snowy climate in the Alps, the exotic warmth of the Caribbean, the beauty of the South Pacific or the ancient wonders of Asia - there are destinations to suit any taste. Deciding on your idea of romance can help you to choose your perfect honeymoon spot, and here are a few ideas to get you thinking about what places you'd enjoy.

One of the best romantic destinations has to be Hawaii. This fiftieth of the United States is the perfect island destination with activities that are sure to entice any couple. Several of the Hawaiian Islands are nearly deserted (once you get past the crowded Honolulu area) - with secluded private beaches and coral reefs perfect for snorkeling with just the two of you. Delicious food abounds here, whether you find the excitement of a luau your perfect romantic spot or beach dining alone on the fabulous seafood of the area. Hotels and resorts are available in different price ranges, from the extremely expensive five star Halekulani resort on Oahu, to the less expensive (but still pricey) Kona Village Resort located on the Big Island (Hawaii).

The Halekulani resort's name means "house befitting heaven", and it's pretty easy to see why they chose that name. The rooms here all have fabulous views, from those showcasing the ocean to pretty sights of the garden area. As honeymooning destinations go, this resort is the top of the line. Complimentary fresh fruit and chocolates at check in are a deluxe touch, and the extravagant orchid pool is made up of more than a million glass tiles. Here, perfection is demanded and received by couples who want the very best.

The Kona Village Resort, on the Big Island, has been rated one of the 50 most romantic resorts in the world by Travel and Leisure magazine. The 125 thatched roof Polynesian huts offer couples the ultimate in privacy with no phones, TVs or radios in the rooms. Three meals a day are included at this secluded resort, and many different island activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing are available here.

If you are looking for the best of the romantic honeymooning destinations, Hawaii may very well be the answer. With the beauty and wonder of this island paradise, any couple would be happy to have their first trip here.

Happy Honeymoon Tips

After the hustle and bustle of wedding plans and the wedding itself, your honeymoon should be a time to relax and enjoy one another's company. With a little preplanning and research, you can be on your way with little to no stress.

The very first thing to consider is your budget. How much are you willing to spend? Is this amount an absolute or will you have a cushion? Consider frequent flyer miles and hotel miles into the equation. Why not put all of your wedding expenses on a single credit card which offers frequent flyer rewards?

Next, you'll need to decide on a destination. Do you want a warm tropical island or a mountain cabin in a colder region? Do you want in an area where there are a lot of other people or seclusion? Sit down and write separate lists of what you want and where you'd like to go, then compare. If your lists are quite different, work toward a plan that offers you both some of what you'd like. You can always find common ground.

Now you need to decide when you want to go and for how long. Do you plan to leave the morning after the wedding or would you like to take several days or weeks to rest? How many vacation days do you need to take? Taking ample time, in both respects, makes for a more relaxed time.

Consider a travel agent. They can be invaluable. They may have travel packages that will help to take the strain off your budget. They can tell you what the weather in generally like in your chosen destination. They will also have information about the place including any sites of interest, restaurants and tours. A travel agent can save you time and money.

Now that you've made these decisions and it's time to prepare for your departure, there are a few more tips and considerations for you such as traveler's checks. How much cash and how much in traveler's checks do you want to carry? Do you plan to take a major credit card? For protection, make copies with clear numbers of everything. Take one with you and keep one at a safe place at home. You'll have this information in the unlucky event that you are robbed.

Traveler's insurance will protect you from the unexpected. Weather events such as hurricanes, illness or any other reason for missing your expected departure time are covered. Most terms will offer a voucher good for up to a year.

Make a list of what to pack. Be aware of airline restrictions. And don't forget your camera and plenty of film!

Thought and planning when it comes to your honeymoon plans can make your trip go smoother and take the worry out of it.

The Dream Honeymoon

I bet you're excited about your approaching honeymoon plans. This special time is full of romance, adventure and intimacy. It's a good idea to give hints to your partner about your dream honeymoon ideas. When they fulfill those wishes, it's all the more exciting. Anticipating a surprise is better than just a surprise. You can be discreet when suggesting hints. Perhaps you could tell a close friend or relative to spread the word.

Jenny always wanted to swim under a waterfall in the sunset on her honeymoon. She told her bride's mother about her little secret over lunch. Jay, her bride, insisted on a budget honeymoon in the states. The day arrived for them to depart in their car. Oddly, Jay took the airport entrance ramp downtown surprising Jenny. The whole honeymoon seemed a surprise from the start. One evening while walking through the jungle, the two came across a waterfall. Jenny awed in shock. The sun rested over the horizon. Jenny?s mother had told Jay about the little secret.

Brad married Cloe in the summertime. They planned on traveling to the Bahamas for their honeymoon. An unfortunate event caused Brad to not deliver the wedding ring at the ceremony. They used a ring from a toy machine at the grocery store. Cloe understood how the jewelry store accidentally switched orders. She got over her sadness with a little charm from Brad. One day, while scuba diving in the Bahamas, the two swam across a reef. Brad suddenly fidgeted in a panicky stir while pointing at something. Cloe quickly maneuvered to see the commotion. A beautiful platinum ring sat gently on part of the reed. She smiled almost loosing her regulator. They swam to the surface with a school of barracuda following the shiny ring.

Honeymoon Heaven

So many couples are finding the cost of their wedding so extortionate that they are having to make cutbacks in vital areas and it's usually the honeymoon that suffers.

Every last penny is spent on lavish venues, handtied bouquets, opulent dress fabrics, extravagant menus, state of the art discos, novel favours and award-winning photographers. But, when it comes to splashing out on the holiday of a lifetime - your first as man and wife packed with lots of guilt free indulgences - why do you feel the need to compromise?! It seems as though wedding guests are treated like royalty leaving the happy couple to start their married life as paupers. There's plenty of time for being penniless later - like when you've got 6 kids to feed and a hefty mortgage!

The honeymoon is such a vital part of a wedding celebration and the perfect end to all the excitement and build up of the big day. But, it's also the start of something special. It's the beginning of your marriage and therefore should be marked with a wonderful holiday. Saving money by not having a proper honeymoon will always be regretted. Make cutbacks everywhere else - give your guests chicken rather than caviar and they probably won't even notice - but don't scrimp on the holiday!

Pack your groom off to the nearest travel agents and make sure you both get the honeymoon you deserve. You can then buy your 'Just Married' Rhinestone Bikini and relish every moment of twinkling by the sea!

Cut the Honeymoon Short

Generally, a lot of focus is put on the honeymoon. But have you ever considered the benefits of cutting it short? When my husband and I got married, he was getting over a throat infection. It was the middle of winter and we had planned to stay at a lodge for a few days. We ended up canceling our plans, not wanting to be that far away from a clinic if the infection came back. We still stayed at a themed inn for our wedding night, but went right to our apartment the next day. Both of us had two weeks off before going back to work. In the end, we were glad to have that time before getting back to the real world. I'm not suggesting you cancel your honeymoon. Simply come home a few days early, or give yourself a few extra days of time off. The transition time will be a starting block to your marriage. This was our experience:

Everyone still thought we were gone. We were able to lock ourselves in the apartment with no interruptions. If I remember right, we didn't even have the phone working until after a few days. We had plenty of time to open all of our presents and write thank you notes. The apartment got organized. Everything had a place. The majority of our things got unpacked. Anything left in a box after we went back to work was still there three months later. I can only imagine how little would have been unpacked if we only had a few days. The money that would have gone toward the honeymoon went straight into savings. That cushion was greatly appreciated when we both lost our jobs sixth months later.

It was a time to adjust to really living together. Not in a romantic getaway, but dealing with the realities of shopping, sharing a small bathroom, fixing dinner, etc. We were able to set up a routine so we didn't get thrown off when we got back to the reality of the work day. We learned how to cooperate and compromise. All of this would have been harder to do if we had immediately thrown ourselves back into our old schedules.

I would urge all engaged couples to schedule that extra time. If you even come home one day early, you still save money and have some sort of adjustment period. It's not worth it to come home from the honeymoon and go straight back to working and socializing. Give yourself that time. You'll be glad you did.

Destinations For Romance On Your Honeymoon

Getting married constitutes the end of your single life and beginning of a new personal adventure. To get things started right, you have a huge choice of destinations for romance.

If you've decided on the wedding date, location and even theme, you might be wondering what's next. Why, you've got to plan the honeymoon, of course! Choosing a place to spend your first days as man and wife can be just as important as planning the wedding and even more fun

Combine the words Hawaii and honeymoon, and you get romance in the language of love. Millions of people from the United States and other countries flock here each year for honeymoons. The islands of Hawaii - which include the Big Island (Hawaii), Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Oahu and Kauai ? are the perfect location for your dream honeymoon. The smaller islands of Lanai and Kauai are especially so and less crowded than the more popular islands of Oahu and Maui.

One excellent choice for your Hawaiian honeymoon stay is the Hanalei Bay Resort, located in Princeville, Kauai. This resort offers suites and regular rooms, with either breathtaking ocean views or beautiful mountain vistas. Golf courses surround the resort, and nestled within the property are two waterfalls. You can even have your wedding here as well, if you'd like to have a destination wedding!

Another location that oozes romance is the Caribbean. This area of the world offers many different resorts and islands to choose from, but they're all infused with the exotic feel of the tropical climate, as well as the warmth and charm of an island getaway. One great place is the Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. This all-inclusive resort offers the best spa in the Caribbean according to Cond? Nast Traveler magazine, and is known as the Caribbean's most elegant resort. A honeymoon here means you don't have to carry cash or pay extra for anything, and a wedding ceremony is even included in the price of your stay! (There is a seven night minimum stay for the free wedding.)

There are many honeymoon spots to choose from when it comes to romance, and it would be impossible to highlight them all. Just remember that when choosing a location, it's important that you find the place romantic and relaxing. Don't book your honeymoon somewhere on the advice of anyone else, be sure to select a resort that's right for the two of you - it's your trip.

Exotic Honeymoons Off The Beaten Path

Mention a honeymoon location, and images of exotic islands and white beaches come to mind. This all true, but you want that something special and exotic to cap off your wedding.

Planning your honeymoon is a fun and exciting time. Choosing where to go, however, can be a bit tricky. There are so many wonderful and enjoyable places throughout the world that can be the site of your first vacation as a married couple - so how do you pick? If you're looking for a trip that's a bit out of the ordinary and different from where everyone else goes, why not choose something exotic?

The best place to find exotic honeymoons is in the region east of Australia and New Zealand, which includes the islands of Fiji, Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, Cook Island and Hawaii. While many people choose Hawaii for their honeymoon, if you select one of these destinations, you'll be sure to have a jaw dropping experience you will never forget. Yep, you will be leaving the confines of the United States for a place a bit more exotic.

Fiji is a great place to start when looking into honeymoons in this region. There are many secluded islands here, where small private resorts offer getaways that cater to just a few couples at a time. Private beaches offer the ultimate in seclusion, and some of the beaches can even be closed off just for you! One such small resort is the Navutu Stars Resort, located on Yasawa Islands in Fiji. This adults-only resort is perfect for those who want a luxurious boutique-hotel feel, while being on an exotic, secluded island. With only nine bungalows (or bures) available for stays at this resort, you'll get personalized service and you won't have to deal with crowds. Seven of the bures are on the beach, only 20 meters from the water, and they offer king size beds along with island d?cor. These small hut-style bungalows are a perfect romantic retreat for newlyweds.

If you prefer a different slice of paradise in the region, look no further than the island of Tahiti. Here, you can choose to stay in a full-featured hotel or small bungalow, depending on your taste and budget. One resort that has both styles of accommodation to choose from is the Bora Bora Nui Resort, located in French Polynesia (the Tahitian Islands). This island paradise, set on a private island on the tip of a lagoon, offers beautiful water views, spa retreats and snorkeling with views of tropical fish. This is a personal favorite and highly recommended!

If you are looking for a different sort of island trip with the luxury you want on a vacation as well as the seclusion you need on a honeymoon, you can?t go wrong with any of the areas mentioned above. Choosing one will be sure to create a memory that you'll never forget, and introduce you to a place you'll want to revisit. When you get down to it, isn?t that exactly what you want from your honeymoon?
