Tips For a Successful Honeymoon

Planning a wedding can be a very stressful but also an exciting time. It is one that you need to do a lot of efficient planning for. You will also want to make sure that every last detail is taken into account. Because of this, you will want to make sure that you are thinking about the honeymoon as well. I am sure that you want to find ways to make this one of the best times of your life. Or should I say, both of your lives

It is better to start planning at least four to six months prior to the honeymoon. You will want to make sure that you have all the details worked out. Don't leave anything to chance. Of course, you will want to discuss matters with your fiancé beforehand so that you are sure of what you both want and what you both will be doing. You'll have to both decide on the destination so that you enjoy this beautiful time together. After all, this is just the start of what you wish is a long and happy marriage.

What about the length of your honeymoon? Do you want it to be a long one or a short time away? Work schedules and other important things that are waiting for you at home will have to be taken into account. This will help you decide how long your honeymoon will last for and where you can go.

Also keep tabs on your budget. You don't want to come back to a big financial mess after such a nice time away. You need to stick to the budget as close as possible as well as think about the money that you have to spend while you are away on your honeymoon. This kind of thoughtful planning will give you a much more relaxing time to get to know each other better

Don't forget all the things that you are going to need for the honeymoon. This includes any clothing and personal items that you need to take along with you. Make sure you have all the items you need for the length of time you will be away. You do not want to have to shop for anything major while you are away because chances are the prices are going to be much higher away from home.

Items you must make sure are valid well before you leave are passports, birth certificates, and visas for your honeymoon destination if needed. Get these things handled months before you go on your honeymoon. This will ensure that you have all the paper work and items that you will need if you decide to take certain honeymoon destinations.

Start saving for your honeymoon early. Plan ahead and try not to leave anything to chance. When you think that you have found that one special person, it could be a good idea to start saving at that point. Anyway, it couldn't hurt. When things do get serious, you will have a great head start. You will feel much better being prepared and you can have a much more enjoyable honeymoon that will hopefully last for a very long time.

Adventure Honeymoon Ideas

Are you looking for a honeymoon that's a little different from the typical beachside vacation? You don't sit around at home, why should you do so on your honeymoon? Consider a diving trip to the Caribbean or perhaps a hiking trip to the Alps. Below are a few of my favorite choices for an adventure honeymoon:

1.Ecotourism in Costa Rica ? Costa Rica, located in the heart of Central America, is rich with natural wonders. There are miles of uncrowded beach on both the Caribbean and the Pacific coasts, the Monteverde Cloud Forest in the central highlands, and the cosmopolitan capital of San Jose. The country is ideal for adventure seekers. You can swing through the tree-top canopy in the rain forest, windsurf on Lake Arenel ? some of the best windsurfing in the world, enjoy fishing for swordfish and tuna, and hike the miles and miles of national park land. Costa Rica also specializes in self-sustaining resorts, a big plus for ecologically sensitive honeymooners.

2.Diving in Grand Cayman ? The Cayman Islands, just east of Cuba, offers some of the best diving in the world. Grand Cayman, the largest of the three Cayman Islands, boasts dozens of dive sites as well as the pristine seven-mile beach and Stingray City, a unique stingray refuge where visitors can swim with 30 to 50 relatively tame stingrays. Accommodations on the island tend towards low-rise, mostly beachfront, condominiums. Nothing is too far away on this 22-mile long island.

3.Bicycling through Belize ? Belize, on the Caribbean coast, offers quiet hillside retreats, stunning Mayan ruins, and undiscovered beaches. You can canoe into remote Barton Cove, an ancient Mayan burial site; stay in Francis Ford Coppola's exclusive jungle hideaway; and peddle alongside waterfalls, beaches, and caves. It's like being in your own Indiana Jones movie.

4.Heli-climbing in the Rockies ? Experience the Canadian Rockies like few others have. A helicopter whisks you up to alpine meadows and inclines for a day or a half-day of hiking ? or you can choose one spot in the morning and another in the afternoon. This trip is not roughing it, however. When you're not exploring Canada's beautiful mountain slopes, you'll be staying at one of the legendary Canadian Pacific lodges, noted for their elegant rooms, spectacular views, and gracious service.

5.Hiking in the Alps ? Join a small group of like-minded adventurers for a trek through the foothills of the Swiss Alps. A typical week-long tour takes you through quaint mountain villages, to secluded mountain meadows, and up steep mountain passes. The average day's travel is about ten miles and in the evening you'll stay and dine in historic and friendly alpine inns.

6.Camping in Yosemite ? The 1189-square mile Yosemite National Park offers over 400 campsites, ranging from primitive to fully-equipped. Yosemite is one of the National Park System's most dramatic, and ranges in elevation from 2000 to over 13,000 feet. Visitors can enjoy the park's over 7000 species of plant life and over 250 varieties of animals. Activities include climbing, hiking the over 800 miles of trails, rafting, and horseback-riding

5 Easy Step To Caribbean Honeymoon Vacation

Spending your honeymoon at the Caribbean is a great thing. But, like any vacation planning, you should start somewhere.

Here are the 5 easy steps to have a great Caribbean honeymoon:

1.Plan a head of time. Planning your Caribbean honeymoon should not come second after planning your wedding. They should be planned at the same time. Make research online or ask for the assistance of your travel agent. Read travel magazines. This would give you an idea where to go and would help you decide what particular Caribbean destination you would go. Read reviews about the different Caribbean hotels are resorts. User reviews will let you know what previous guests have experienced while expert reviews will let you inform about the pros and cons of the place. Find the best hotel or resort you can afford. Here, you must decide what type of accommodation you would get. Make sure you can afford your honeymoon or if not, have your honeymoon registry ready.

2.Make your destination fixed. Having planned early, you should have made up your mind where or what hotel or resort you will stay. Have it fixed but give yourself a second and third option if your original plan fails. The thing is: you should have determined where and when to go. You should also have determined what to do.

3.Book early. Normally, a good 6-8 month prior to your departure booking will let you have the access to great discounts and special rates. Another thing is, many Caribbean hotels and resorts sell out early especially during summer.

4.Prepare all your documents. Have your passport and other travel documents ready months in advance. Take note that you are, at the same time, preparing for your wedding and it is assumed that you are very busy with several engagements and appointments. Have a week to prepare for all of these. Travel documents should not be neglected.

5.Don?t forget to confirm. Weeks before your scheduled Caribbean honeymoon make sure you call your travel agent and confirm all your flight and reservations. Don?t forget to do this so that you can avoid any problem at the day of your departure. Doing this would also give you enough time to make changes if there are any. Re-confirm days before your departure.

Make sure you remember all these so that you will have bigger chances of a smooth and hassle-free Caribbean honeymoon.

For Romance, Stay at the Honeymoon Capitals

Trying to decide where to honeymoon? Well, let?s face it, the honeymoon world is your oyster, as you have a mind numbing number of options. So, why not narrow your list to the unofficial ?Honeymoon Capitals?: Niagara Falls, The Poconos in Pennsylvania; and Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls has long been known as the ?Honeymoon Capital of the World.? Some of the earliest honeymooning couples include Theodosia Burr, daughter of U.S. Vice-President Aaron Burr (yes, that Aaron Burr), who honeymooned with her new husband, Joseph Aliston in 1802, and Jerome Bonaparte, brother of Napoleon (yes, that Napoleon), who honeymooned with his new wife, Elizabeth Patterson in 1804.

It may not be the tallest waterfall in the world, but it is certainly the most famous, located on the border between the New York and Ontario. Niagara Falls is actually a collection of three waterfalls: Horseshoe Falls (called by some the Canadian Falls), the American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls, with Horseshoe Falls considered the most spectacular of the three.

The Pocono Mountains:

Did you know the Pocono Mountains is also referred to as "The Honeymoon Capital of the World"? Well, it?s true. As a matter of fact, over 200,000 honeymooning couples each year choose to begin their married life in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania, which boasts 2,400 square miles of wooded peaks and valleys with crystal clear lakes, rushing rivers, and some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the eastern United States.

The Poconos specializes in honeymoons, with several adult-only resorts available, as well as spas for those who love to be pampered. Choosing a cabin in the Poconos affords you privacy and romance, with access to all the fine spas and restaurants that will make your honeymoon even more special.

If you want to venture out of your cabin or resort there are numerous activities in the Poconos to keep you busy: hiking, biking, boating, golf, tennis, sightseeing, horseback riding, swimming, skiing, sledding, and snowmobiling.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee ? Great Smoky Mountains

Gatlinburg is known as the ?Honeymoon Capital of the South,? so you know it must have great amenities for honeymooners. Gatlinburg is adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park which receives approximately 9 million visitors per year. The reason the area receives so many visitors is the incredible beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains, as well as the availability of lodging and services in nearby Gatlinburg. But, don?t let the number of visitors scare you away. A cabin in Gatlinburg will give you the privacy you need for your honeymoon.

Cabins in Gatlinburg are some of the most luxurious around. For example, America?s Cabins, Inc. have honeymoon cabins available with heart-shaped jacuzzi tubs, hot tubs on outside decks overlooking spectacular mountain scenery, pool tables, washer/dryers, cable and fireplaces. They can be reached at 800-900-7717.

The benefit of staying in one of the ?Honeymoon Capitals? is that the businesses are geared to service honeymooners, and you can probably find many different honeymoon packages which can save you money. And, besides, isn?t it just cool to say you honeymooned in the ?Honeymoon Capital? of somewhere?

A Honeymoon Safari Challenge

Four countries and six locations (including river, beach, Delta, desert and coast) in eighteen days sounds more like a challenge for charity than an enjoyable and inspiring holiday. But that?s the sum of a fabulous trip we recently arranged for Stephen and Bryony Wolf on their honeymoon. Always of the opinion that a well paced trip does not include too many countries, too many locations and too few nights in one place, we felt challenged by the request to include Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa in one itinerary.

After three days relaxing at the River Club on the banks of the Zambezi close to Victoria Falls, a short flight took them to Chief?s Camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Located in the Mombo concession, game viewing here is incredible with very dense animal concentrations particularly predators. A short hop by light aircraft to Maun was followed by a direct flight to the Namibian capital Windhoek. Here they had a one night stop at Hilltop House a simple but comfortable bed and breakfast. And then onto the three night Schoeman?s fly-in safari, a legend in itself providing some of the most extraordinary visions of the Skeleton Coast, Damaraland and Kaokoland accompanied by guides who have lived and breathed this part of Namibia since birth.

Next came another flight, this time to Johannesburg and an overnight at our favourite boutique style hotel, Ten Bompas, only a short drive from the airport.

The finale to their spectacular holiday was a four night stay at Rocktail Bay Lodge on the Indian Ocean coast of South Africa. A great beach location, wild and safari-like, with wide open beaches and superb diving and snorkelling.

A great challenge and a great trip.

Charlotte Opperman first visited Africa on honeymoon in Kenya, when a love of Africa (and hopefully her husband) was born. She has since visited Botswana, Namibia and the Seychelles. Charlotte has also tested a number of our trips with her husband and two sons. So far they have visited Mauritius, South Africa (twice) and Kenya, so she is a great person to talk to if wanting to travel to Africa with children. A keen horsewoman Charlotte rides and competes regularly, and has ridden in both Southern and East Africa. Her desire for comfort in unspoilt surroundings makes her a good yardstick when planning a safari for many of our clients. Her close attention to detail ensures our clients never leave home unprepared.

Honeymoon In Europe

The couple may have known each for other a few months or a few years before deciding to tie the knot. When the preparations and the wedding itself are over, the newly weds will finally go on a honeymoon to begin life as husband and wife.

The honeymoon just like the wedding should be planned ahead of time. The couple may decide to travel to the east or west coast depending where the couple resides. If there is enough money in the budget, this can also be done out of the country like somewhere in Europe or the Bahamas.

Should the couple decide to cross the Atlantic, there is always Paris which is known as the city of lights. It will be great to go up the Eiffel Tower to have a 360-degree view of the city either during the day or at night.

Not far from this place is the Parc du Champ de Mars which the lovers can visit after going down the tower.

Early this year, the movie entitled Da Vinci Code came out. While in the city, it wouldn?t hurt to visit the Louvre that has various paintings and sculptures such as the Mona Lisa as well as others dating back to the 16th century.

Those who love architecture and a little history should also visit the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysees and the Church of Notre Dame. The day can end with a dinner cruise by the Seine River before going back home and calling it a night.

A few miles south of Mexico is the country known as the Costa Rica. A lot of Americans have retired here just like in Florida. There isn?t that much to see hear except for the 9 volcanoes but the beaches are absolutely amazing.

The couple can walk in the sands since it has more than a thousand miles of coastline stretching from one part of the country to the other. If the wedding is in June, there is a chance that the tourists will be able to see live sea turtles laying eggs in the evening.

Those who want to go under the sea can take up classes or show the membership card to be able to scuba dive and see marine life in its natural habitat. Newly weds who want to go inland can try visiting one of the three national parks that is a safe haven for birds and other animals that survive in the rain forests.

Newlyweds are always looking for a honeymoon destination, there are a few magnificent places, some are classic and some are unique and special, find out more about Honeymoon Package at Celia Nemart?s Honeymoon Destination pages at http://TravelZupa.com

Planning the Perfect Honeymoon Vacation

For most newlyweds their honeymoon vacation is their first real chance to go away together as a couple. For this reason you will want to be certain that your time away is a fun filled and romantic experience. Here are some tips and ideas to make your honeymoon vacation your first real fun getaway together.

Before you start planning your honeymoon vacation it is important for you and your future spouse to talk about what you both want to experience during your honeymoon. Your honeymoon should be an experience you both enjoy and your honeymoon destination should be someplace that holds an interest for both of you.

Out of all the honeymoon vacation choices there is one idea that most couples don't ever think about. Give an amusement or some type of theme park consideration. If you both enjoy large crowds, lots of rides and endless entertainment and you've always had a thing for the cartoon characters of your youth then a Disneyland type honeymoon may be the perfect getaway. There's plenty to do at a major theme park, in fact it can take several days to enjoy all the rides, shows and other activities to be found. They also offer luxury hotels right on the park grounds that offer all the amenities that you would find at any other destination resort. You can also get package deals at many of the big theme parks that include multi-day passes, lodging and meals. For a return to your more youthful days a theme park honeymoon vacation could be the perfect choice.

If a theme park is not your cup of tea then maybe you and your future spouse my want to consider a honeymoon vacation at a more cultural destination. Your honeymoon is a great opportunity to visit a far off place you've both always wished to visit. If picturesque villages and old castles pique your interest then a visit to an old world country will fit the bill. There are many countries across Europe where you can find castles that have been converted into 5 star resorts over the years or you can stay in quaint village bed and breakfast and visit nearby castles that are still just that, old fortresses little changed for hundreds of years.

If you and your future spouse are more inclined to be night owls then a trip to a big city or destination resort can offer a more fast paced have a good time honeymoon. With different theatre and show options to choose from you can take in something different every night and once the show is over join the throngs of club hoppers as they sample different types of music and dance experiences until the wee hours of the morning.

Because there are limitless ideas when it comes to planning a honeymoon vacation it really comes down choosing a destination that offers what you and your spouse will enjoy together most. As long as you both agree on the details during the planning stage your honeymoon vacation will be filled with love and romance.

How To Make Your Beach Honeymoon Extra Romantic

It is easy to set your honeymoon and it is easier to find a location for this provided that you have an idea where to go, what to do, and how much money you want to spend. However, this does not automatically mean that you can get a romantic honeymoon. All your money, place, and things you have prepared are all useless if you and your partner would not make them work for.

So how to make your beach honeymoon extra romantic? Let us count the ways?

If you set your honeymoon at a beach (which a normal couple would do), make it extra romantic by booking for an exclusive night at a villa on a secluded island. Some resorts and hotels have this amenity where you and your couple can enjoy. An overnight stay in an island with no other people around you will surely give you the privacy and the freedom to do everything you like and enjoy each other?s company both of you have all been dreaming of.

Set a romantic dinner where your favorite music is played. You can also arrange for dinner beside the beach with musicians at your side. The open air, the calmness of the sea, the sound of the waves, and the clear night sky plus the romantic music would all conspire to create the most unique and romantic dinner for both of you.

Instead of letting one of the staffs of the hotel to bring your breakfast at your bed, wake up early in the morning and request the chef to let you help for the preparation of the food. Personally deliver them to your room and great your partner with a warm kiss and sweet words.

Have her favorite flowers to be delivered to your room everyday so that every time she wakes up, she can see different sets of flowers. No lady can resist the thoughts of you bringing her flowers every morning.

Book for the most romantic suite and pamper her with the best services you can give. Treat her like a baby. Treat her the way she wants to be treated. Women are very emotional so letting her feel that she?s being treated with outmost care is greatly appreciated.

These are some of the things you can do to make your honeymoon at the beach extra special. One more thing: Let your partner become clueless on your actions and surprise her with something sweet.

Wintertime Honeymoon Vacation Ideas in the Yellowstone Area

Yellowstone area is a big draw for honeymooners. My son and his wife spent their honeymoon in West Yellowstone and the surrounding area just last December (2005). They absolutely loved it.

When most people go on their honeymoon they don't particularly want a set agenda where they need to keep a schedule. Still, there are some that want to squeeze as many activities as they can. I've put together several sample agendas that take the work out of planning your honeymoon. My wife, being the romantic that she is, has helped me put this article together. So here are some great honeymoon vacation ideas.

West Yellowstone Honeymoon

Sample Agenda #1

Wakeup, eat breakfast at your hotel.

After breakfast rent 2 snowmobiles from one of the local snowmobile shops. Get a good map of the trails in the West Yellowstone and Island Park area, and go have a blast. Another option; take a guided snowmobile tour inside Yellowstone Park. There is really nothing like seeing Yellowstone with a blanket of snow covering everything. Make it a half-day or full-day excursion. Take a lunch.

After eating, go to the Yellowstone IMAX. Each show starts on the hour beginning at 9 am and running until 9 pm.

When the show is over, if you haven't had dinner, go to Bullwinkles Saloon and Eatery. They are at #19 Madison.

Go back to your room and relax.

Winter Sample Agenda #2

Wake up and get breakfast.

Go cross country skiing on the Rendezvous Trail System. It's an olympic class trail. You can rent skis at any of the local shops. If you're a novice, they can give you some basic instruction. It?s an activity that you can do for an hour or all day long.

Jackson Hole Honeymoon

Winter Sample Agenda #3

Get breakfast.

Spend the rest of the day downhill skiing. You have 2 resorts to choose from; Snow King right in Jackson or Jackson Hole Mountain Resort at Teton Village. Both offer great skiing.

In the afternoon or evening when you get done with your hike, instead of driving straight back to Jackson, swing around to the west and stop at Teton Village. They have a several restaurants. After dinner, head back to your hotel for some R & R.

Winter Sample Agenda #4

Get breakfast.

Drive to the elk refuge and take a sleigh ride out to feed the elk. Rides are on a first come first served basis. They depart 3 or 4 times every hour.

Get some lunch.

In the afternoon go to Teton Village and take a tram ride up the hill and back. Remember, though, that the tram will be closed until 2008. Even though the main aerial tram is being replaced, you can still get up the mountain on the Bridger Gondola.

In the evening take a Solitude Cabin sleigh ride and dinner. They serve roast prime rib au jus, filet of broiled salmon, or vegetarian entree. Good stuff.

These are some good honeymoon vacation ideas for you to look over. If you don't like a set agenda, you can still glean from these ideas and do what you want at your leisure.

Italy offers both plenty of sandy beaches as well as snow covered mountains for skiing and snowboarding. There are a number of major cities worth visiting in Italy that is why it might be of interest to spend a day or two in a number of cities, rather than limiting your trip to only one. Honeymooning in Jamaica

Getting married? Congratulations. Now, we all know planning a wedding can sometimes be a stressful affair. You have to reserve a location for your ceremony, plan the menu for the reception, book a photographer, etc., etc. Then there's the honeymoon! You have only one choice, and it better be good, right? It is your honeymoon, after all. When was the last time you turned to your future spouse and said, "honey, let's pick someplace mundane for our honeymoon."

Well, if you want a mundane honeymoon destination, I can't help you. But, if you want to honeymoon in of the most gorgeous and romantic spots on earth, then let me suggest Jamaica, an island nation in the Caribbean, known for its scenery and amazing weather. The popular Jamaican poem sums up the tropical climate pretty accurately: "We have neither summer nor winter/Neither autumn nor spring...."

Okay, so it's pretty and the weather's great. Anything else? Consider this: Jamaica is a very popular romantic getaway, chosen by honeymooners the world over, which means that you will have a great choice of resorts that have age restrictions. What does that mean for you? Well, while you two are getting to one another better in your room, you won't hear the endless stream of "Marco" "Polo", "Marco" "Polo" being shouted by children at the pool. In addition, an age-restricted resort usually provides a more romantic atmosphere than one which caters to families. Now, there's nothing wrong with children. You may end up having a few yourselves. But, you don't want to have to hear them on your honeymoon, right?

Planning Your Wedding Honeymoon

Not sure where to begin when planning for your honeymoon? When wedding planning, you should start discussing ideas with your spouse-to-be. Will you travel domestically or internationally? What type of honeymoon do you desire? Will it be part of a destination wedding? If you're thinking along the lines of exotic beaches and ethnic foods, you most likely will want to plan to travel abroad.

If you're looking for a quaint, quiet, lazy, get-away -- you may opt to plan for a scenic bed & breakfast overlooking the mountains somewhere domestically. Regardless of where you decide to go, the following tips will help you get there safe and unscathed from mental anguish:

1. Use the services of a travel agent. Their expertise and knowledge of packages and deals will help you save an ample amount of money as well as time.

2. Start planning your trip early. This will give you sufficient time to research your trip and find the exact accommodations that you want. Some places reserve up to a year in advance for popular seasons and resorts!

3. Before you book your trip, decide where you're willing to splurge and what things you're willing to skip out on. This will assist you in your planning and budgeting.

4. Take advantage of any agency that's willing to provide free information; whether it be a website or toll-free number. Nevertheless, beware of agencies that offer promises that sound too good to be true. They most likely are.

5. Make arrangements in your maiden name if you haven't had time to change all of your legal documentation with your new married name. This can be especially frustrating if you're travelling abroad and the name on your passport and birth certificate do not coincide with your travel ticket. It's better to play it safe and make sure that your name matches on every document you have until you return from your travels.

6. Expect the unexpected. You can have a plan and a budget written, that doesn't always mean that everything will go according to plan. Carry a sense of humor and good spirits. You'll have to remain cool and collected. After all, this is your once in a lifetime honeymoon. Why let the small stuff get to you?

7. Bask in all of your glory! Let everyone know that you're on your honeymoon! You'll most likely receive complimentary champagne, mints, candies, or a even gift basket in your room. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain!
