Honeymoon Tips and Must Haves

So your wedding is over now the fun begins. Of course, it is your honeymoon. Although your honeymoon can be a real hassle if you are not prepared for the worst. Below I have put together a small list of items that you might need.

1. Take all your medication with you that you feel will be necessary to your well being.

2. If you are traveling to a foreign country remember that their electrical outlets most likely will not be the same as ours. So make sure you prepare for this or you most likely will not be able to use your electrical items.

3. If you are traveling overseas or out of the country you will need passports and or visas. Make sure you have for these items way in advance. In the time we are living in now security of you and your loved one should be the number one factor so be cautious of where you are traveling.

4. Pack the right clothes for the environment. Take extra shoes for the formal dinners, flip flops for the beach and coats for the cold.

5. If you are traveling to a foreign country make sure you go to your family doctor and get his suggestions on any vaccinations you should get.

6. If you wear contacts or prescription glass have a backup. If not your vacation will be ruined.

7. Make sure you take all of your health insurance information just in case of a medical emergency.

8. Make a list of your traveler's check numbers just in case they get lost or stolen. Do not keep these in your purse or wallet.

9. If you are traveling overseas before you bring anything home with you check with the local government officials or search the internet to get the guidelines of what you can bring back.

10. With all of the bad weather going on these days make sure you are prepared. Take flashlights, candles, extra batteries and perishable foods. Take anything you feel that would help you in such a moment of crisis.

HoneyMoon Vacation Package - Cheap Honeymoon Destinations

Did you know you can buy your honeymoon vacation package on eBay and possibly save a ton of money? If you know how to search for these deals and what to look for then you can get a fabulous honeymoon at a cheap price. However, with around 12,000 auctions in the Travel category at any given time, searching eBay for a good vacation deal can be quite daunting unless you have help - and here's where this article comes in handy! Here I've listed some of my recommendations for buying airfare, cruises and resorts on eBay and at the bottom of this article you will find a link for more help on finding cheap honeymoon vacation packages.

For discount airline ticket deals as well as some vacation packages I recommend the eBay seller, PointsofLightFoundation. This is a charity store with over 6900 feedback all 100% positive. I compared a vacation package they are offering to Maui from any where in the U.S. or Canada with an online discount travel service and found that I could save over $1,000 on this particular package. It included round trip 1st class airfare for two and 6 nights at the Ritz Carlton hotel. I also compared just airline tickets to Hawaii and found I could save over $100 if I bought them on eBay.

For honeymoon vacation packages I recommend the eBay seller, cruisegoddess -this store has over 1000 feedback and 99.8% is positive. They feature all major cruise lines from Discovery Cruise Lines to all inclusive resorts worldwide. These guys are travel agents with over 25 years experience. Their auction/store listings are very professional and detailed and they provide a phone number to contact them directly. I found a 5 night Carnival Caribbean cruise for two for $578, compared to a similar online service I can save almost $500.

For honeymoon resorts I recommend the eBay seller, justgottago -this store has over 500 feedback, all positive. They specialize in luxury resort and condo rentals and claim you can save 50-75% off the normal rates. Most of the vacations are for 4 - 6 people to get the most out of it, but even if only two are going you can still find a great deal. I found a Las Vegas vacation deal - 7 night stay, up to 6 people in a two bedroom suite for $595. That's less than $100 per person for the whole week.

For any travel deal on eBay you need to read the fine print (i.e. extra charges such as taxes may apply), check the sellers feedback, read what other buyers are saying and ask questions. Expect the seller to provide a contact phone number as well in case you need to get in touch with them. A lot of the vacation packages on eBay have restrictions such as limited dates of travel or you will have to go to a presentation. I found some awesome resort rates, but a presentation is required. If you don't mind pushy sales people it is well worth the trip.

If you can't find the honeymoon vacation package you're looking for on eBay you can always search for travel deals here.

Wintertime Honeymoon Vacation Ideas in the Yellowstone Area

Yellowstone area is a big draw for honeymooners. My son and his wife spent their honeymoon in West Yellowstone and the surrounding area just last December (2005). They absolutely loved it.

When most people go on their honeymoon they don't particularly want a set agenda where they need to keep a schedule. Still, there are some that want to squeeze as many activities as they can. I've put together several sample agendas that take the work out of planning your honeymoon. My wife, being the romantic that she is, has helped me put this article together. So here are some great honeymoon vacation ideas.

West Yellowstone Honeymoon

Sample Agenda #1

Wakeup, eat breakfast at your hotel.

After breakfast rent 2 snowmobiles from one of the local snowmobile shops. Get a good map of the trails in the West Yellowstone and Island Park area, and go have a blast. Another option; take a guided snowmobile tour inside Yellowstone Park. There is really nothing like seeing Yellowstone with a blanket of snow covering everything. Make it a half-day or full-day excursion. Take a lunch.

After eating, go to the Yellowstone IMAX. Each show starts on the hour beginning at 9 am and running until 9 pm.

When the show is over, if you haven't had dinner, go to Bullwinkles Saloon and Eatery. They are at #19 Madison.

Go back to your room and relax.

Winter Sample Agenda #2

Wake up and get breakfast.

Go cross country skiing on the Rendezvous Trail System. It's an olympic class trail. You can rent skis at any of the local shops. If you're a novice, they can give you some basic instruction. It?s an activity that you can do for an hour or all day long.

Jackson Hole Honeymoon

Winter Sample Agenda #3

Get breakfast.

Spend the rest of the day downhill skiing. You have 2 resorts to choose from; Snow King right in Jackson or Jackson Hole Mountain Resort at Teton Village. Both offer great skiing.

In the afternoon or evening when you get done with your hike, instead of driving straight back to Jackson, swing around to the west and stop at Teton Village. They have a several restaurants. After dinner, head back to your hotel for some R & R.

Winter Sample Agenda #4

Get breakfast.

Drive to the elk refuge and take a sleigh ride out to feed the elk. Rides are on a first come first served basis. They depart 3 or 4 times every hour.

Get some lunch.

In the afternoon go to Teton Village and take a tram ride up the hill and back. Remember, though, that the tram will be closed until 2008. Even though the main aerial tram is being replaced, you can still get up the mountain on the Bridger Gondola.

In the evening take a Solitude Cabin sleigh ride and dinner. They serve roast prime rib au jus, filet of broiled salmon, or vegetarian entree. Good stuff.

These are some good honeymoon vacation ideas for you to look over. If you don't like a set agenda, you can still glean from these ideas and do what you want at your leisure.

Choosing a Caribbean Honeymoon Resort

Finding a Caribbean honeymoon resort is easy. The hard part is choosing the one that?s right for your honeymoon. There are over 7000 Caribbean islands, not all of which are inhabited. Of the over 7000 islands there are a total of 36 island groups made up of either single islands, such as Jamaica, or island groups like the Bahamas, which boasts 2400 islands. Each of these islands has its own distinct cultural flavor and intimate resorts for the perfect honeymoon.

So how do you choose the right resort for you and your soon to be spouse? There are so many Caribbean honeymoon resorts to choose from. There are all inclusive couples?s only super resorts such as Sandals to more intimate Caribbean villas and inns.

The first thing you need to do when choosing a Caribbean honeymoon resort is to decide which island you would like to stay on. There is such a range of diversity to choose from depending on what you want to do on your honeymoon. For those who like water sports, golf and just hanging out on the beach just about any of the islands will do.

If you are looking for an all around Caribbean experience then Jamaica may be the place for you. With beachside all inclusive super resorts and intimate mountain villas Jamaica has something for everyone. If you want to hike through tropical rain forests and climb cascading waterfalls or spend time shopping the day away and clubbing until the wee hours of the morning then Jamaica is the perfect choice.

For a more intimate Caribbean honeymoon try some of the smaller islands such as Culebra and Dominica. These two islands will truly let you get away from it all, tropical paradises where time ceases to mean anything and there isn?t much to do except just kick back and enjoy the intimacy of being newlyweds.

The Bahamas are made up of 2400 islands and provide just about any and all activities anyone would want to do on a Caribbean honeymoon. There is every accommodation possible, from five star resorts to small family run inns hidden along the old world city streets. And for anyone who has ever wanted to swim with dolphins Grand Bahama boasts the Dolphin Experience.

So as you can see just choosing the Caribbean island you wish to visit can take some doing. Once you find the island to fit you choosing the Caribbean honeymoon resort becomes much easier. Although the size of the island you choose as your honeymoon destination will have an impact on the number of resorts to choose from. The bigger the island the more honeymoon resorts there will be, and again, just like the islands themselves the possibilities are pretty limitless.

But rest assured that which ever Caribbean honeymoon resort you choose you will not be disappointed. Honeymooning in a tropical paradise is the ultimate romantic destination.

The All Inclusive Honeymoon Vacation

Searching for the ultimate all inclusive honeymoon vacation? Depending on who you ask the ultimate vacation package could be just about anything. When it comes to planning your honeymoon vacation only you and your future spouse know what is right for you two. In reality the ultimate honeymoon is an entirely personal experience shared by two people who love one another.

There are ultimately thousands of all inclusive honeymoons to choose from all over the world. Which one is right for you and your new spouse will depend on how much money you want to spend, what kind of experience you are looking for and where you would like to go.

Many people opt for the tropical island route when it comes to romantic honeymoons, and who can blame them. There is nothing more romantic than crystal blue water lapping against a warm sandy beach and moonlit walks against an ocean backdrop.

There are literally hundreds if not thousands of resorts located on tropical islands that provide everything you need in an all inclusive honeymoon vacation. Probably the best known is Sandals, a couples only all inclusive resort with 12 locations scattered across some of the Caribbean?s best beaches. And all inclusive at Sandals means you get everything included in the price such as: all meals including gourmet dining, premium drinks, scuba diving, golf, waterskiing, sailing, windsurfing, entertainment, hotel taxes, tips and gratuities and even a hurricane guarantee. While a Sandals all inclusive honeymoon vacation may not be for you, most all inclusive resorts offer packages that are very similar.

Another possibility for an all inclusive honeymoon vacation is taking a honeymoon cruise. The nice thing about an all inclusive honeymoon cruise is just like at a resort everything is paid for, with a couple of exceptions. On a cruise you will have to pay for any alcoholic beverages on board and any on-shore activities at the ports-of-call. A cruise is perfect if you don?t want to be stuck at one location as well. Most cruises, depending on the length of the cruise, stop at anywhere from 2 to 5 ports-of-call. It?s kind of like a recreational vehicle, except on the ocean. And the accommodations are a whole lot nicer. You will get a chance to visit different ports on different islands and get a feel for the various cultures and activities each offer.

The all inclusive honeymoon vacation is a great way to go. Once your travel plans are made and the trip is paid for you really have nothing else to worry about. You may need to take a little extra cash for miscellaneous things like during the trip to and from your destination but the nice thing about an all inclusive honeymoon is that everything is paid for up front, allowing you and your new spouse to enjoy your honeymoon without any added worries.

Honeymooners Most Popular Destinations

One of the most well known traditions following a wedding is to take a trip to one of the popular honeymoon destinations in the world. It is estimated that 99% of newlyweds will engage in some sort of honeymoon package. The most popular honeymoon destinations are usually places that people often vacation at, such as Hawaii and other tropical locations. The purchase of a honeymoon package is much different than a vacation because newlyweds spend thousands of dollars more for this special event.

Choosing a honeymoon package is quite important and once selected, a newly married couple will join the ranks of a $12 billion-dollar-per-year industry, which whisks newlyweds to some of the most exotic, exciting, fun, and especially romantic honeymoon destinations in the world. While cruises are sometimes thought of as the most popular way to spend a honeymoon, about only 10% of newlyweds take to the high seas. About 1/3 of couples choose honeymoon destinations within the U.S, which may take them skiing in the snowy mountains of Aspen or shuffling down Broadway in the electrifying location of New York City. The rest of the honeymooners select a foreign location to celebrate their wedding, ranging from romantic Paris to the vineyards of Italy.

Depending on the type of wedding a couple has participated in; they may wind up vacationing where they got married. Most out-of town weddings are said to take place in Hawaii, Jamaica, the Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, and of course, Las Vegas. Below are a few places to consider when pondering the many honeymoon destinations that the world has to offer.

Las Vegas

Even the excitement of getting married cannot compare to the never-ending roller coaster ride that is Las Vegas. Take your sweetheart to the romantic Fountains at the Bellagio and shower them with kisses, or savor a taste of abroad through the Eiffel Tower Experience. Then, once you?ve absorbed your fill of the Las Vegas scenery, sights and sounds, you may plow through the many casinos and around-the-clock activities, from lavish buffets to unforgettable can-can and cabaret shows. There is also something quite exciting about having the opportunity to win extra money to extend your honeymoon adventure.

Venice

A romantic trip to Italy is never complete until you experience the beauty of the Grand Canal of Venice. Step into an irresistibly romantic setting upon one of the gondolas, which allow you to float away into a reverie of kisses. Whether you enjoy a performance at the La Fenice Opera House or gaze upon the Basilica di San Marco, couples never tire of the numerous palaces and squares scattered about the city. The art, culture, and natural surroundings wrap newlyweds in a blanket of bliss.

The Bahamas

Honeymoon beach destinations are quite popular. In the Bahamas, you will find a concentration of about 700 islands to romp about, sunbath and make love throughout the night and day. Situated close to Florida, you may engage in numerous day trips to surrounding beaches and resorts. The Bahamas offers access to Nassau, Grand Bahamas Island, as well as the appropriately named, Paradise Island. It is through these islands that a tropical storybook romance unfolds with you and your love as the main characters.

Newlyweds are always looking for a honeymoon destination, there are a few magnificent places, some are classic and some are unique and special, find out more about Top Honeymoon Packages at Celia Nemart?s Honeymoon Destination pages http://honeymoon.travelzupa.com/.

Getting the most out of your honeymoon

First you will need to figure out your budget. After you have set a budget figure out how many weeks it is until your honeymoon and divide the total cost by the number of weeks and set that much back every week or two weeks whenever you get paid. Once you have taken your budget into account figure out how much you would like to spend daily on your honeymoon.

Choose all inclusive when picking your destination. Most of the time you will not need any money at all and your meals are included

Hidden costs are everywhere. You need to figure in all the tips, cab rides and all the meals you will be eating.

Go on a picnic. Picnics are cheap and memorable.

The costs of meals can really add up. So set a budget and look for all the deals possible.

Consider mentioning to local restaurants that you have just got married and are on your honeymoon they might throw in a little something extra.

Eat where most tourist do not. Restaurants will charge more around the tourist areas.

Use your credit card whenever possible because most credit card companies will give you the currency exchange rate.

If your buying mementos shop at mom and pop stores they will usually bargain with you.

Most of all just remember some of the best things in life are free.

Heavenly Honeymoons--Advice and Tips for That Perfect Getaway!

Getting married is one of the most anticipated and exciting times of your life. And your honeymoon can be the most exciting and romantic trip you will ever take, since it represents a celebration of your love, your new marriage, and the lifetime commitment you have made. How do you get that "perfect" honeymoon? As with everything else that involves marriage, it is vitally important that you talk with your future spouse. Communication between partners is absolutely essential in a strong and enduring marriage--whether it be about financial decisions, the in-laws, or raising the kids. That communication channel can begin with the planning of the wedding ceremony and certainly with the decisions concerning the honeymoon.

Finding out what your future spouse has for honeymoon expectations and matching them with yours is a good place to begin when planning a honeymoon. Do you want to go around the block, or around the world? Do you want the honeymoon to be exciting and adventurous or lazy and relaxing? Do you want to save money, or really splurge on a big ticket vacation? Do you want sunshine or snow? (Hawaii or the Canadian Rockies) Do you want to marry in the same place you plan to honeymoon? Answering these questions can help insure that your honeymoon will fulfill your wildest dreams.

Remember, the best reason for a honeymoon is to rest, relax and regroup after the stresses and rigors of planning and conducting your wedding. The peace of mind which it can bring is worth every penny. Even if you are already living together, you will need to get away and relax after all the work you have done to get to this point. Do not treat your honeymoon like another vacation; it is a very special time! A time to bond, to set new directions, lay out goals as a married couple, and to renew your romance.

According to ancient traditions, the word "honeymoon" is based upon the practice of newlyweds drinking mead, called bride ale, which was produced from fermented honey. This beverage was consumed during the first month (and therefore "moon") of marriage. The fermented drink supposedly increased virility and fertility and, consequently, the first month of marriage was referred to as the honeymoon. It is only within the last 50-60 years, however, that honeymoons have gained wide popularity. With so-called "honeymoon destinations" emerging--Cancun, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Tahiti, Italy, Las Vegas, New Orleans--these post-wedding trips offered ordinary citizens a taste of what it was like to be wealthy. Chances are good that honeymoons are here to stay.

Romance is not just roses and candles. If you are adventurous newlyweds there a many ways to enliven your honeymoon. Scuba diving, snowmobiling, parasailing, skydiving, or couples' bungee jumping are a few of the ways to spice up your honeymoon and return home with unforgettable memories of that golden getaway.

An important word of advice: don't be afraid to mention the fact that you will be honeymooning when you're making reservations for a restaurant, hotel, or cruise. Announce it when you arrive. Tell everyone! You're happy and you're in love. Special accommodations and gifts, ranging from upgraded rooms to flowers or free champagne are often given to honeymooners.
